Update: (May 2025). Minutes after ordering our server told us that they were out of pork chops. Do I ordered ribs with loaded mashed potatoes and a salad. My wife ordered chicken tenders and sweet potato fries and a salad.

Drinks were good and most of the food was. But my mashed potatoes were not. They had a sour note to them. I can't stand sour cream or ranch. My wife loves it. But even she said there was something off about them. I've had them here many times and they never tasted bad like this. The manager said he was going to go taste them but he never returned with his verdict. I believe something in their fridge was going bad. He offered to replace it with something else but I just wanted him to get the feedback and investigate.

Our server, Sydney, was awesome. She too offered a replacement but I told her the same thing about feedback. Something in that kitchen has changed.

Overall we had a good experience. I just hope next time all of the food is good.

I didn't take photos this time because I didn't get what I initially ordered. If they have pork chops next time I'll try to remember to take photos.

(2023). We just moved to Alabama from Phoenix and have been busy settling into our home. Finally got some time to go out for a meal. We arrived at Big Whiskey and had a pleasant welcome. We were seated quickly, Our server (Lisa) was extremely helpful with recommendations for drinks, appetizers, and our dinner as well. She was well versed with the menu and was able to tell us what she would recommend after we told her about some of our likes and dislikes with food. She kept our water topped off and was quick to grab our second drinks we ordered from the bar. Our food came out perfectly. I would go back for the food but the main reason we will return is because of Lisa. She's a fantastic server and these days that is hard to find. She could be someone I would want to train other servers. She's got a great personality and she made our night.
