Brock's Gap Brewing Company — Restaurant in Hoover

I hate to make bad reviews but after some thought, I feel this place deserves one. Beware, the owner is super defensive to any criticism. We went a few weeks ago and pulled into the parking lot. We saw there were at least 15 children running around and decided to leave and try back another time. We went again the next weekend and it was the same thing. So I suppose if bringing your children to a breweryand letting them loose is your thing then it's not a 1 star review. For me and my group, it is.

Fast forward to Wednesday May 1. On their Facebook page they had posted about their food truck being ready to go. I made a comment in jest saying "I would try it if I didn't have to dodge dozens of children on my way" or something very similar to that. They then replied "well their parents will be buying from us so no worries". I said well I guess it's clear where your priorities lie and then thanked them for their transparency. Another person also agreed with me and then another person posted saying the same thing. The owners seem to be oblivious to concerns many people have about their space. It is a running joke at this point in several local Facebook groups and Reddit that Brock's gap is the playground with a brewery attached.

Several minutes after the last post I had said nothing more and then all negative posts were removed and I was promptly banned from their page. Needless to say, I won't be back as it seems like they certainly don't want our business. Try several of the other smaller local breweries if you want to be welcomed and not have to deal with attitude or chaos.

EXCELLENCE IN EVERY WAY!!! Do yourself a favor and book your next event here!!! I can’t say enough about the AMAZING time we all had at the Engagement Party at BROCK’S GAP BREWING COMPANY!!! I chose the ENGINE ROOM for our event and was so thrilled as were all our guests! The owner, CATHERINE, was fabulous to work with and was so helpful in helping my vision come true! This room is located downstairs and provides wonderful privacy, a very large and comfortable space, large screen TV’s throughout for the sports lover, private bathrooms, your own bartender and bar, and lovely patio furniture with an outdoor area!!! There are fun add ons that can be included in the party package and we loved the Photo Booth and fabulous backdrop!!! Catherine and her husband, Jamie came the day of my event and personally decorated the backdrop!!! Every team member is so polite, so helpful, so knowledgeable, so professional!!! I would like to personally thank Rochelle who so kindly unlocked the door for me so that I could decorate! I would like to thank our wonderful bartender, Jalen, who was so amazing in assuring that all our guests were taken care of in their selections of fabulous beer on tap, wine coolers, wines, Coke products, and more!!! The entire wonderful, young team made sure that everything was clean and that tables were set up to my satisfaction! I would like to add that on the day of our event, the temperature was 94 degrees outside and yet, the ENGINE ROOM was so cool and so comfortable for our 70 guests!!! Since it was first announced in October 2020 I have been waiting patiently for this place to open. Thanks to an untapped app friend stating that she had been here on Saturday 3/12 I realized that it had opened right under my nose. Of course I had to check it out for myself on Sunday 3/13. The parking lot is small but we were able to secure a parking spot first try. The overflow parking is at the Hoover Met and the wooden stairs will lead you down to the brewery. In the brewery parking lot there are spots up front just for golf carts. There is an open area for the kids to run around but be aware while playing corn hole that they will run right in front of you or across the corn hole board and leap off of it. Yes the parents are sitting right there watching! There are food trucks available as the brewery does not have a kitchen. The soft drinks are limited to bottles of Coke, Sprite, and one more that I don't recall but you can can bring your own soft drinks. The brewery is dog friendly and are allowed inside as long as they are well behaved. There is plenty of seating inside and limited tables outside facing Stadium trace. There are picnic tables out front which provides more seating. There are 13 taps available with 4 more coming soon. While it was crowded you didn't have to wait long to taste any of the available beers or receive a glass of your choice from any one of the available draft selections. This looks like it will be a popular choice among beer drinkers and one of my favorites. I will definitely be back with my two long hair dachshunds to enjoy the outside with some cold...
