We finally got a chance to try this restaurant and had a flyer for a free appetizer with no expiration date which they honored even though we had it for a while. The chips and queso was very good. Our drinks arrived at the table quickly and fast as if you were seated at the bar. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my wife ordered the chef salad. We had enough time to finish the appetizer before our entrees arrived. The Shrimp & grits was outstanding. I thought the dish needed just a little more grits but I am probably being too critical. My wife’s chef salad was fresh and delicious and what she didn’t eat for dinner was my lunch the following day. Our side order of sweet potato fries was awesome! It has been a long time since we’ve tasted sweet potato fries this good. For dessert the scoop of ice cream with chocolate and caramel was generously applied. It was like my wife snuck into the kitchen and made it herself. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Our server Elle was great and it is clear why this restaurant is a favorite hangout of the locals. We sat out on the patio which is dog friendly. We are definitely looking forward to returning here in the near future.

We were in Ross Bridge for the farmers market and decided to try Front Porch while we were there. We were seated immediately and met by our server at our table of choice on the patio. We chose to start with the bacon bombs and cheese curds. This was an excellent choice!! Bacon wrapped kielbasa in a candied BBQ style sauce! Sign me up for seconds! The cheese curds were great as well! Deep fried and melted to perfection!! Even better when you dip them in the bacon bomb sauce. My wife got the chicken finger platter and I grabbed the chicken lettuce wraps. Chicken fingers were hand breaded and fried crisp. She asked for extra bacon bomb sauce to dip them in. Sweet potato fries were crispy with a honey sauce. Chicken lettuce wraps had an excellent taste but were a little dry. Made from breast meat, just seemed a little over cooked. Service was excellent, patio was nice and airy with a view of the street and area. Restaurant was clean and quiet. Would stop by again when we are in the area!

The Front Porch is an awesome neighborhood gastro pub with friendly service and excellent food. Plus, if you sit on the "front porch", you can bring your furry, four legged friend. Since my brother had never sampled TFP, I chose it for a Saturday lunchtime excursion. I had the Strawberry Fields salad with grilled chicken and balsamic dressing. My brother selected the Turkey Club with fresh fruit. Both of us were very pleased with our food choices, and dining outside on a lovely spring day made it even better. The salad, with fresh greens, onions, almonds, feta and balsamic dressing, was very tasty. My brother said he enjoyed every bite of his turkey club and strawberries. This is definitely a restaurant that I would recommend. It's neat, the surroundings are nuevo quaint, the service is super and the prices are reasonable. It is high on my list of places to return when I'm in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Front Porch, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance felt warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a fantastic lunch experience. The Buffalo chicken wrap and sweet potato fries with caramel drizzle were undoubtedly the stars of the show.

Let's talk about the Buffalo chicken wrap - it was simply awesome! The flavors were on point, with just the right balance of spiciness and creaminess. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection, making every bite a burst of savory goodness. The wrap was not only delicious but also satisfyingly filling, leaving me completely satisfied with my choice.

Now, let's talk about those sweet potato fries with caramel drizzle - wow! I couldn't agree more; they were spot on! The combination of the slightly sweet and perfectly crisp sweet potato fries with the indulgent caramel drizzle was an absolute treat for the taste buds. It's no surprise that you felt like a kid in a candy store while enjoying them. The dish is a delightful blend of flavors and textures that leaves you craving more.

Moreover, I must commend our server, Mac, for his exceptional service. He truly elevated our dining experience with his warm personality and witty sense of humor. It's refreshing to have a server who not only takes care of the guest's needs but also keeps them entertained throughout the meal. Mac's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on.

Mac made sure our beverages were refilled promptly and ensured that we had everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our meal. It's evident that he takes pride in his job and genuinely cares about the guests' satisfaction.

Overall, Front Porch provides an unforgettable lunch experience with its delicious food and fantastic service. If you're in the mood for a mouthwatering Buffalo chicken wrap and some seriously addictive sweet potato fries, this is the place to be. The friendly and attentive service from Mac adds the perfect touch to an already outstanding...

I have not left a 5 star review in a few years, but I would give Front Porch at least 6 if I could. The food, service, and atmosphere are all perfectly in sync. The staff held the door for us as we entered and then we were seated immediately. The server, Anna, was amazing at keeping our drinks filled and our table unencumbered. She did this all with a room brightening smile and the graciousness of a time long since passed.

And then the food came, oh my! The shrimp and grits were perfectly cooked with the grits being just thick enough to use a fork with them. The red-eye gravy was superb, literally the best any of us had ever tasted. I dipped my onion rings and fish tacos into the gravy...so good. Oh, the fish tacos were so meaty with the grilled fish having developed a flavor on par with a good steak. The vegetables on the taco were fresh and delicious, bringing a spring-like brightness to the dish on such a cold day. The onion rings are something I judge restaurants pretty harshly on, but these were the best I have EVER tasted...and I dipped some in the red-eye gravy which took them to off the charts good. My son had the children's spaghetti plate which is huge and uses homemade marinara that is not overtly sweet, but is so tasty that he would not stop eating and then asked to take the rest home. The mac n cheese he got for a side came home with us as well, he was stuffed on the spaghetti but would not leave it behind.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. It is my new favorite place and not just in the Birmingham/ Hoover area, but in the entire South East. The other thing I want to say is that it hits the wallet just right. With the inflation and up-charges one finds in all restaurants these days, the prices here are truly reasonable and you seriously get more than you paid for.

God bless this place. We hope it never changes because we will be back as many times as we can...

During a recent takeout order from Front Porch, we encountered several issues that negatively impacted our experience. The restaurant’s website indicated that sides were included with entrées, yet we were charged extra for each side on one of our orders. Additionally, there was a $2 charge for selecting “No Side,” which contradicted the online information and caused confusion.

When I called to address this, the shift manager acknowledged the website issue and promised to escalate it to the ownership team, which I appreciated. I also shared that my wife became ill shortly after eating the Porch Plate Mahi, further adding to our disappointment.

Despite waiting 48 hours, I received no follow-up. In a subsequent call, another manager, Jeff, was dismissive and rude, downplaying the importance of customer feedback and online reviews. He stated, in a condescending tone, that Front Porch was a $2.5M company and my review “wouldn’t matter.”

Customer feedback is vital for any business, and dismissing it can harm both reputation and revenue. I respectfully request direct follow-up from either of the owners, Jeremy H or John G, to address these concerns.

I’d like to confirm if the managers that I spoke with are “brand ambassadors” and demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction that represents their expected business model.

Respectfully sharing our customer...
