China Star — Restaurant in Hope Mills

I really wish I can get this place zero Stars I ordered food from there I asked for a plain shrimp fried rice no vegetables no onions with chicken wings and a egg roll when I got my food it was almost $16 in my rice had vegetables in it the wings looked pretty good the egg rolls was gross I then try my rice and it taste like the rice and the shrimp was cooked in water no season no flavor or nothing the mess was pure white so I take it back and let them know that vegetables was in it and that it had no flavor to it at all and the got mad and while h was refunding my money back to my card he told me I can order from somewhere else next time I can't come back in there I will never be returning the food was nasty how are you going to get mad when you'll already put vegetables in the rice and because it was nasty lol IF YOU'LL WANT GREAT FOOD WITH DECENT PRICES TRY HOKE KONG ON MCPHERSON CHURCH RD I guess that's what I get for trying to be different and get something that...

China Star is a restaurant in the same new strip mall as the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Legion Road. We have been there several times since we "discovered" it. The first time, not knowing their Open time, we approached their door, but turned around and headed to our car to go somewhere else because neither of us wanted to wait. One of the owners opened the door and invited us in. Her husband started cooking as soon as he knew what we wanted. The food brought to the table (really quickly) was beautiful! And smelled so good. My husband and I agreed that for the first time since we moved back to NC, the Chinese meal we had before us was the best! We had enjoyed Japanese food and the Chinese food while we lived in Iwakuni. In the Phoenix metro there are many restaurants that serve great tasting foods. We have returned many times and each time truly enjoyed our meals. Definitely my new go-to spot for Chinese takeout since I moved to the area! I love sesame chicken but it doesn’t taste the same everywhere, but it’s the only thing I order when I get Chinese. So, I did a lot of reading in the reviews of different spots. Ultimately, I chose China Star because it was closest to my house and I was in a rush, not because of the reviews. Obviously, I’m glad I did though. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of timeliness & price. I called at 2:44pm and arrived at 3:13pm. They said 10/15 minutes and it’d been 29 minutes. I still had to stand there and wait a few min after I paid, even though the place was empty. Timeliness could’ve been better but customer service was great besides that.
