We recently went here for the first time as a recommendation from a co-worker for a good place to meet up with friends (coming out of town) that have little kids. The recommendation did NOT disappoint!! The place was clean and very well kept! They had a playground for the little ones that is fenced in! (Our kiddos were from ages of 6 yo - 20 mos. There were some bigger kids there enjoying the playground as well.) It is a dog friendly establishment AND they had a dog park!! The food was also AMAZING!! We ate at Napkins and then one of the food trucks (didn’t catch the name!) Highly recommend the burger and Brussel sprouts from Napkins. My hubby had a burrito from the food truck which was ginormous in size and in flavor!! The only negatives we have are: 1) There are 2 mini locations on the property. 1 that sells cocktails and the other that sales beer / sangria. From what I could tell, if you purchased drinks from either of these locations, you had to stay in that location. Meaning, you couldn’t bring a cocktail to the beer area and vice versa. This would make it difficult if you wanted to go there with a big group of friends or a celebration of sort where you had individuals that wanted to enjoy 2 different types of drinks. 2) It appears that they are adding on. Therefore there was a LOT of loose dirt! Unfortunately for us, the day we went, it was VERY windy. So we had some extra dirt in our beverages and had to move inside to eat. 3) Eating inside is NOT kid friendly! They only have high tables and no high chairs!! My kiddo actually fell off the stool and smacked his head in the metal pipes that are the support of the table and ended up with a nasty gash in his cheek. So bring a high chair w/you (if you can) on a windy day if you have small kiddos.
All-n-all, I would absolutely recommend this place!!! We would be coming back, but unfortunately for us, this location is over an hour from our house. BUT! If we ever have friends passing through again, THIS will be the...
Read moreDirtbag Ales Farmer's Market (Sundays from 10-2) is the best Farmers Market in the Fort Liberty area, beating out Southern Pines and Fayetteville in numbers of vendors and available ammenities (but check out Fayetteville and Southern Pines anyway! They are Saturday and also good, so no conflicts!)
The brewery is open and available during the farmer's market, and Napkins is serving food. If you are interested in a little different cuisine, there are at least 9 other food trucks and trailers today, and there are at least 10 vendors selling snacks and drinks.
There are at least 50 vendors set up as of 10:30 with a few more coming in a little after 11, so you are sure to find fresh produce, meat and eggs that you a need as well as gifts and art that is great as departure gifts or sonething to decorate your house, mancave, or she shed.
Definitely consider bringing the kids and your dog and make a day of it! There is an outstanding dog run and a robust playground area that will keep your two-legged and four-legged dependents entertained for several hours.
Unlike a Friday or Saturdau evening, you can definitely find a seat, but, while it is not crowded, you will still find hundreds of potential friends and kindred spirits browsing the goods, enjoying a beverage, and, for many, just chilling in the shade of the shelter, the patio shade, or under the shade of the mature pones that cover the property...
And, while you are sure to find a seat in your prefered comfort zone, you can also bring your own folding chair and set up in the most optimal areas to listen to the music or watch your kids play on the playground.
The Dirtbag Ales Sunday Farmer's Market is definitely a place to go to get your fresh produce, but it is also great for getting away for a few hours or for building your community. Check it out as...
Read moreI am not a fan of giving local businesses bad reviews but this is the second customer service experience that has left me fuming and wanting to close my tab to drink elsewhere. I’ll preface the review with my 4 years of craft brewery brew tending experience. I’ve been left standing in line twice with empty beers, leaning against the bar counter while the female staff flirt and cahoot with customers whom already have had their beer order fulfilled. I feel like if I don’t have the “single soldier on the prowl” (which is hard to achieve beings I’m a female) look, I’m not going to be served. The young solo kid next to me with a full beer was delivered a Hershey kiss from the back room by a female brewtender while I waited with my empty glass. My tab was rendered useless when ordering my second beer because they required my ID regardless. So I had to hop out of line to acquire such ID from my table (no biggie, I get the A.L.E drama) only to hop back in line and be avoided by the same staff member. Again. The line behind me grew to unbearable lengths and I felt embarrassed. I literally had to hop out of line and hop in another line that the original girl who served me was tending to. It took me 34 minutes to get a beer. I watched patrons all around me be served out of order and the ever growing line be ignored. This is the second time this has happened so I won’t be returning to face a third. Good luck with your new location, but a patron who has been visiting you since the first year you opened on Legion...
