Lucy's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hopewell Township

Horrible food and experience. I have been going there for a long time. The recipe has changed and when I asked if there was a new cook and the girl gave me a big smirk and I asked her kindly why was she smiling like that and she replied that it was the same cook. I asked her if it was since the restaurant opened and she said yes. THERE IS NO WAY because there are new staff there that I haven't seen before!! I proceeded to order my food and I ordered tacos dorado with cheese, I got it with chicken (which had hair in it). I ordered al pastor tacos and I received tacos with beef cube meat no pineapple and dry. The tacos were horrible. The tortas are lacking and I am truly saddened that this once beloved restaurant (which I raved to everyone about) has turned into a dump. I’ve been coming to Lucy’s for years now. I remember when the restaurant looked so different! Over the years Lucy’s has expanded their dinning space and menu options. Their dinning spaces feel open and authentic, you can tell they really put a great deal of effort into the style. Their tacos are really good, look for their taco Tuesday special. This time around I tried their flautas and I was pleased. My lovely date got the Quesabirria tacos which were delicious. Their salsas have always been good, but over the years I felt like they perfected the flavor they were trying to achieve. The staff was very nice. The young girl took the time to explain the dessert menu to my husband and I as we were there for dessert only. I ordered Fresca con crema and they were out of strawberries; no big deal, it happens, so I ordered the cheesecake. I was told that the cheesecake was just like flaun, just sweeter, and it was exactly that. I’m not a big flaun person, so I did not enjoy it. The chips were stale, my husband ordered a mango smoothie which had a sour candy like straw thing in it as well.. we left pretty disappointed.. the point of this is to not go here for dessert.
