This place is a classic hole in the wall with really good food. For me, I used to live nearby and this has been a favorite grease-pit for almost ten years. Recently it was purchased and the new owner has retained much of the previous menu and added Mexican fare. Still fantastic is the Philly and gyros. Haven't tried the burger but they used to be very good. The new tacos are your street variety featuring corn tortillas and quality meat. The chicken was really good, and with a kick. Tinga? The steak was slightly seasoned but salty good meat, no sauce. Each bite was hefty. A solid lunch would be about 3 tacos and 5 to indulge. I didn't try the torta but some people getting take out said it their new favorite. I live in St Paul near lots of Mexican joints and this ranks higher than most. I will definitely journey back soon to try all the other stuff. The new owner took our order, he was very friendly and the food was hot off the grill. I want to support this place and you should too.
I went back to try the gyros and tortas. The gyro was very good and the meat barely grilled which I prefer; soft and tasty. The torta was the cubano version, which was a hearty and flavor explosion. Perfect. My gf had the normal torta with steak and she loved it - she...
Read moreCasa Deli is a hole in the strip mall one could drive right by. I only heard about it because my friend lives in the area. The locals definitely know about Casa Deli.
It’s small. Counter ordering. Just a few places to sit and eat. They do a LOT of takeout business. While we ate in on a Monday afternoon, there were at least 7 people that came in and picked up doordash or call in orders. They are busy.
Given that, we got our food quickly. Maybe 10 minutes after a walk-in order.
They are a little pricey also. There really isn’t a meal for less than $14.
The food is delicious. Everything I had was great. I was with 3 friends, and we all ordered something different and everyone liked everything.
I had the gyro plate, just delicious and plenty to eat. They have some really unique Mexican dishes and twists on hamburgers.
The menu is vast. SO MANY options. So many things to try.
I’ll definitely be back when I’m in Hopkins. Thanks for...
Read moreComprehensive from someone coming here since 2009. They were closed a while way back in the day. This place has been remodeled in the last 5 years of so. If you want to sit & eat there are tables & high top seating bar style. Staff are always nice, could not complain about staff. Food on the other hand has gotten really expensive for what it is. Today I got gyro & fries, price 17 bucks. It's ok food but nothing to brag about from any other spot. In the past I've ordered burger & fries, hard pass! Chilequiles and they are below standards for the price I paid egg way overcooked & rubbery. My husband swears by the good morning Hopkins sandwich so maybe it's worth trying. I can't say anything is bad, but meat in my gyro is dry. I can't recommend and that is too bad because this place used to be a great hidden gem in a strip mall. Music is always pumping so don't plan on eating inside & being able to have any...
