We wanted have lunch with my mother, who is in a nursing home. She wanted Captain D's, so we found out what she wanted and headed to our local Captain D's. I placed the order. Sorry, they were out of broccoli with cheese, they were also out of fried okra, and sorry, no baked potato unless we wanted to wait 10 minutes. (There didn't appear to be a huge crowd, so I couldn't figure out what the problem was...). I changed the entire order and instead of being able to get the "platter" meals as we had planned, we all three ended up with "kids meals" and paid extra for 2 pieces of fish, settled for fries instead of the baked potatoes we wanted. I had to "pull around and wait" for our food, which was no longer hot. When we got to the nursing home, we realized NONE of us had hush puppies, we only received 1 piece of corn (we ordered and paid for three) and to make matters worse, there were NO condiments, NO cutlery, and NO napkins. This is the second time I've had a poor experience at Captain D's in less than 8 weeks! There is a Long John Silver's two stores down from Captain D's and I believe that we will start taking our business there. It's a shame too, because we, as a family have eaten Sunday lunch at Captain D's for several years. In the past (before the pandemic and before my mother had to go to the nursing home), we dined in, and any time we had a problem, we could remedy it quickly. It's just not the case anymore because lots of things have changed... It's so sad, but it would seem that businesses would take the time to inventory and be sure they have adequate amounts of the food offered on the menu. You wanted my feedback, I'm sorry it had to be negative but the quality that should have been there just wasn't.
Sincerely, Cheryl Young 503 Springmont...
Read moreClosing time is 10pm. I got there at 9:48. Doors were locked and employees turned me away saying it was already closed. Now, I understand that I showed up only 12 mins. away from official closing time and that's an unpleasant inconvenience. Honestly I really hated being that person who shows up moments before closing and still wanting to be served. However, I work a good distance away from where I live and didn't get off my job until 8 so, it couldn't be helped. Where I work, we are not allowed to lock the doors or turn anyone away if 8pm has not already come and passed. In fact after being turned away, I went over to Long John Silver's where they also close at 10, was down to 7 mins left to order and they STILL took my order and had my food out before 10. That makes me feel like the employees who turned me away from Captain D's, did so on their own feelings and terms and closed everything down before the actual posted closing time. If I'm wrong and they're allowed to shut everything down a couple mins before the actual closing time, then my bad. I'm sorry. But like I said, where I work and other places I've been to, are open until the EXACT closing time. No matter how we feel about it. Which means if someone strolls in at 7:59, yes, we have to tend to them. Unless someone can clarify whether or not those employees who turned me away were allowed to do that, I will not be returning to this...
Read moreThe lady that was as time drive thru window this morning refused to go and see if the “ lady in the back was portioning honey mustard “ after I asked her nicely to go check for me she proceeded to tell me she doesn’t know if she’s working on tarter sauce, or honey mustard so it would take about 30 minutes to get 2 little cups of honey mustard. As a previous customer service employee, I’ve always believed that the customer comes first. She refused to check for the honey mustard to I continued on to nicely tell her she was being rude, and she began to scream “ no you’re rude “ and some extra comments out the window, for absolutely no reason because I all I wanted was my honey mustard. I pay $20 for a meal, and I can’t even get my dipping sauce? Try and put nicer people at the window or maybe more considerate with customer service. Cause that girl could’ve got smacked right at...
