We’ve been back since original review many times; but I figured it was time to freshen it up. Added a couple new pics. Prices have followed inflation and like every where else, gone up. So the complaints about food for price, I got a DAMN GOOD bacon cheeseburger, fried and large drink and still say they’re competitively priced and CB’s (as one reviewer said) isn’t serving a burger close to this! 133BRGR still doing it right!
What used to be called the “Hightower Cafe” is now “133 BRGR.” Completely different owner and staff. Today was their grand opening. A remodel job turned the fairly rundown cafe into a nice clean, presentable eatery that is simple but effective in the presentation of the meal. Complete with a exterior sign “133 BRGR” that looks like a highway road sign. 👍🏻
Handmade 1/4lb or 1/2lb burgers with all the fixings and choices of sides, hot dogs, chili dogs, grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, salads, chicken strips and more. Soda pop, Shakes, ice cream, cones and many flavors to choose from.
I had the 1/2lb bacon cheeseburger with fries that was both hearty and tasty. The bacon was thick sliced, not some half cooked by microwave flimsy piece of maybe pork. My wife had the 1/3lb cheeseburger and fries. The buns were fresh and held up to the weight of the beef. Priced fairly; our meal was $24.50 which included 2 large drinks.
“133 BRGR” is the best burger in the North...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in since we were already in the area, and a friend told us it was a good burger place. Upon first entering, it was nice/ clean, and inviting.
Our issues were number one, expensive (they charge you for extra ranch, and it came in a packet), a burger, salad, two drinks, and sweet potato fries came out to $40 dollars not including the tip.
Our food took a while to come out, and then it was served to the wrong table. I went to get our food, and the waitress told us that our food would be remade, and it wasn't. They just held it back in the kitchen/ put it back under the heat lamp, and then served it. (The kitchen is open so we could see our food.)
Overall just a bad expensive lunch experience.
If you are going to charge that much, you need to be on top of your game or be willing to...
Read moreif you find yourself on the Western Slope between Gunnison and Grand Junction MAKE SURE you take time to visit 133 BRGR. This is a FAMILY establishment; the service is great; the staff attentive; the food superior. Located in Hotchkiss, CO--all they need to corner the market in town is to serve breakfast from 6:30 to 10:00 each day! THIS PLACE IS GREAT. The beef is some of the best I've ever tasted and I have no idea what they do to the fries, but they are unusually tasty. The many is varied, but lends itself to casual food. (ICE CREAM treats are a must, and the servings are huge.) I highly recommend 133 BRGR and the Todd family. ...
