Pop's Cajun Cafe — Restaurant in Houma

I can honestly say I didn't even know about this little restaurant, which is attached to a gas station, was even there. My friend whom I was with, recommended it, when we decided to stop and get lunch. We didn't dine in. We were on our way somewhere. So, my review is primarily on what I saw while waiting for our lunch to be ready. It was a quaint little diner, very clean, very friendly staff, and the service fast. They had our order ready in just a few minutes, even with the diner being full of hungry lunchtime people. We didn't order anything fancy, just some hamburgers and fries to go. Which were really tasty. I should add that their menu did have a variety of cajun dishes. Po boys, jambalaya, and the such. I hope to stop again sometimes, and I would recommend it to family...

Forget all the rest of the cafe and seafood places in Houma. Pop's has the best, freshest, and local food in town. Every order is cooked fresh from scratch with fresh local ingredients. In my opinion the absolute best oyster poboys in town with fresh local oysters. Same thing with the shrimp poboy. If you dont know what to get during the week is fresh daily made plate lunches and fresh daily made specials of the day. Also, the hamburger combo is excellent and offered every day. This place is a hidden gem in Houma that must be discovered by more people, I am telling you absolutely amazing fresh food cooked to oder that you will not be disappointed about. Okay yall here me out.... it's in a truckstop, is this a bad thing no it is not and it's definitely worth stopping in. They have a good ole fashioned counter service or you can sit at any of the booths or tables. They food is made with simple quality ingredients. It's a good value and you won't leave hungry. I mean just look at those layers in that biscuit or the big chunks of ham, sausage and bacon in that omelet! Want to know where the sea food came from? Just check the board!
