7/3/2025 was the day I was finally able to find out what all the raving was about at the location on the Sam Houston South Beltway. For weeks they were always sold out of chicken when I went. Well, today was not that day. Well, today I wish they had been. My family ordered the 20-piece dark meat chicken, two fish, and shrimp baskets with added wings and fries. The fries were good, a bit overly seasoned but still good. The fish and shrimp were overcooked and did not taste fresh. The chicken too was overcooked. Neither fish, shrimp nor chicken seemed seasoned well. The oil they fried the meat in tasted old. The pink lemonade tasted watered down. We had to doctor it up at home. I don't know if the cooks were alert or if I just got a bad batch of food. Sad to say, our stomachs were turning flips afterward. We all had the bubble guts. Never again will I eat from this spot. Now let's talk about customer service. Their service was OK. The only part was that they took so long to make your order, and on this day they forgot to bag up our 20-piece chicken. I blame myself because we did not self-check the order. Thank goodness we live nearby. They realized their mistake and corrected their mistake. For the taste and quality of the food outside of the fries, I rate this location a negative 100. Popeyes or Timmy Chan chicken tastes way better and I don't care for Timmy Chan's chicken wings. This was my family and my experience. This was a waste of money 💰 and it was not what I expected based on the reviews on social media. Money down the drain cause the rest of the food was tossed in the trash. We couldn't even enjoy let alone finish eating after a few bites. In this type of economy who has $80 to just throw away like that? I don't like to waste my money or food. On this day I did. I would not even throw it out to feed stray dogs. Maybe we went on an off day.(Sunday at 2pm.) Although at a gas station, I was still ready and eager to try. I ordered a 6 piece chicken and French fries and some of the dessert egg rolls. The guy working said that it would be 20 minutes, which I assumed meant it would be fresh and piping hot!! 😂😂 I ended up waiting over 45 minutes for some lukewarm food. They other cashier/worker had to keep asking me my name and what I ordered. Guys weren’t wearing gloves, dirty aprons, and kept pulling up their pants. Dude dealing with cash/credit cards, The food was definitely not hot, they told me after 30 minutes that they were out of French fries and offered a substitute of beans and rice.(gave me 80% rice and 20% beans). We didn’t eat the beans and rice because there was a long hair on the container. The chicken, while seasoned well, was definitely not hot. The cheesecake eggrolls were horrible. This is the best fried chicken I've tasted in a very very long time. Me and my family have been supporting this business the last couple of months and today on this Sunday has been by far the worst experience ever. I've meet the owner several times here and his has been magnificent however today I was greeting by a young man with small twisted twigs in his hair (best I can describe) I ask for a family meal he explained that he didn't have something that come with that meal so I asked him what will he give me in replace and he said he said that he don't have it and do I not understand what he is saying....I understand you completely and I asked what can you replace it with he then turn to another customer and ask what you gone order all while ignoring me. Might I add that customer walked off and didn't order at all but I guess my family order didn't mean anything to the business. If my children and family didn't want this so bad I would take our hard earn money elsewhere. Perhaps this employee needs more customers service...
