In the illustrious tapestry of our local dining scene, Hank's Fish Market has long been a beacon for those seeking the simple pleasures of maritime fare. Nestled in a neighborhood where culture runs as deep as the ocean itself, Hank's has, until now, been a reliable port for many a hungry sailor after a long week's voyage. As a once devoted patron, my sails have been unfurled in anticipation of their famed Shrimp Fried Rice, a dish that promised to anchor a festive family gathering. Alas, this voyage into the culinary seas was met not with the warm embrace of flavor but with the stormy seas of distress. Our crew, a hearty and resilient family, was besieged by a turbulent storm of gastrointestinal woes that lasted longer than any storied sea monster's wrath—three days, to be precise. A closer inspection of our rations revealed a traitor amidst the ranks: the subtle yet unmistakably foul scent of spoilage. In this vibrant but underserved quarter of our community, options for dining are as scarce as fresh water in the open sea, making the disappointment not just personal but a communal tragedy. Furthermore, Hank's insistence on a cash-only policy raises the Jolly Roger suspicion, hinting at a booming treasure chest, albeit not with the spoils one would hope for. With a heavy heart and a lighter stomach, I must cast a bottle into the ocean of public opinion, warning fellow gastronomic adventurers to navigate away from these troubled waters. Here's to smoother sailing ahead, hoping that Hank's Fish Market might one day right its ship and once again offer a safe harbor for those of us seeking refuge...
Read moreI came 10/17 through the drive through. The lady that took my order through the drive through was extremely rude and didn’t even let me finish my order and was rushing me to take my order. So I didn’t sweat it… it was around 8:30pm. I asked for 3 fish, 12 shrimp and to add 2 extra pieces of shrimp with a small side of pork fried rice. I live a whole hour away and was leaving my from getting my vehicle worked on. I get down the road headed toward the freeway and look in plate. I have 2 fish and 12 shrimp and pork fried rice. Then the food was unusually disgusting like it had been cooked in old dirty grease. My fries was hard and in fact everything was hard and extra crispy like burnt chips with smashed shrimp as if they put old fish, shrimp and fries in old grease to warm it up it. It was was definitely old and I pray I don’t get sick cause that is very dirty and trifling. Didn’t even give me a receipt. Then when I asked for extra tartar sauce, she tells me I put you 3 in the bag as if she didn’t want to restock on sauce so she tried to limit the sauce and which I didn’t mind paying a extra 60% for extra sauce. I been extremely busy the past few days tryna get my door frame fix for my vehicle all the way from settegast all the way to Tomball. I call the first time… I didn’t get a answer so I call back again to speak to the manager and all she can do is tell me she sorry I should have brought the food back…. So I don’t recommend eatting their food at night or ever and they’re rude. So next time when I get hungry in the hood…. I’ll get chicken plus be4 I ever go back to hanks...
Read moreI did a five star review before but I took that back after a couple of bad visits. I take back everything I said before about this place! This "used" to be my favorite hood fish place, but not anymore! I've always got perfectly fried fish and shrimp but this day it was horrible...not to mention the "hair" that was in my food! I drove all the way over there because I've been wanting some good fish and plus I recently moved and its nothing out here. I get all the way home about 40-45 minutes later, open my plate and there's hair sitting there on the top of the styrofoam tray. I called back and she's like bring it back, I said I live too far, can you just take my name and replace my order next time. The lady told me to freeze the plate and bring it the next time I go...needless to say I will not be going back! Oh yeah, she asked where was the hair? Did it matter!!?? Looking at the fish and shrimp it looked old and the batter was separating from the fish and shrimp like many of the other reviewers pictures. I also order a combination rice without veggies that was very greasy! I don't know if they got new cooks or what but I definitely won't...
