Hot Stop — Restaurant in Houston

I had been interested in trying this place for a while, often driving past and wondering what their food would be like. Today, I finally had a craving for it and decided to give them a try.

On my way home, I called around 2:45 PM to place an order since their listed closing time was 3:00 PM. I was hoping they’d be accommodating, considering I would arrive just a few minutes before closing. However, when I called, I was abruptly told, “We’re closed,” in a sharp tone—no explanation, no courtesy.

I understand that businesses have closing hours and may need to stop taking orders early, but the way it was communicated made me not want to patronize them at all. A little kindness and better communication could have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I’m not sure...

The Hot Stop is a hidden neighborhood jewel. We lucked upon while leaving Doris Soul Kitchen. We tried cheeseburgers and a pork chop sandwich at The Hot Stop. Both items were prepared to order, thus, a slight wait time for meals. Food was seasoned just right, not salty, nor greasy. It's to go only, walk up to place order at window and wait on patio or in your vehicle. Staff wore mask and patrons as well maintained distance. GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICES, & GREAT HOURS. All of these people are telling lies.. This place is so over rated... And So expensive. I try to patronize black owned businesses, but in this case I will not. The menu is too high a burger basket is $9.50!!! Really!! Chicken wings $10.00 that's ridiculous. On top of that my burger were soggy. You don't get the proper amount for the money spent. The owner is incredibly money hungry. Bad for Businesses and for this, this business will get NO STARS from...
