La Tazza Specialty Coffee I don’t usually hand out five-star reviews after just two visits—but La Tazza Specialty Coffee is a well-deserved exception. At first glance, the name struck me as a bit pretentious. In a city like Houston, many cafés claim to offer “specialty” coffee. But La Tazza quickly proved to be something entirely different. On my first visit, I ordered an Americano and was pleasantly surprised by its balanced, earthy flavor. I also tried their alfajores, which were delightfully delicious—sweet, but not cloying. On my second visit, I decided to truly explore what makes their coffee “specialty.” I went for the AAA Purple Honey Pour Over—a coffee sold according to bean quality, roast process, and aging. The selection is thoughtful and unique, and while the higher-end pour overs can be on the pricier side, the quality justifies every penny. You’re not just paying for a drink—you’re experiencing craftsmanship in a cup. My companion ordered two non-caffeinated drinks: an Ube Latte and a Vanilla-Rose Petal Latte—both beautifully presented and well-balanced in flavor. The staff deserves special mention: friendly, bilingual, and impressively knowledgeable. They’re genuinely passionate about coffee and happy to explain the nuances behind each item on the menu. We also shared a Chocolate Caramel Crunch dessert—again, rich in flavor without being overpowering. Everything we tried was executed with care. The space itself is clean, cozy, and inviting—ideal for a quiet conversation or a solo reading session. If you prefer cafés bustling with laptops and conference calls, this may not be your spot. But if you’re looking for a relaxed, high-quality coffee experience, La Tazza is a gem. I’ll definitely be back.

This coffee shop is located in my old stomping grounds. I know this side of Stella Link so well, and I'm pleased to see it's starting to get some worthy coffee spots Nestled in a small shopping outlet, this spot comes highly recommended. I went by here a couple times at various times of day, and it's always busy. This would be one of the only things that is somewhat annoying is that it's a small space with limited seating and surface area, and it always seems to be packed. I even went on a Friday afternoon at 2-3pm and I had to wait for a seat If you are a coffee lover this place is for you. They have all the classic specialty drinks as well as some signature options. Their pastries are all made in house by hand. They have exotic and varieties of coffee beans you won't find at your typical coffee shop. I ordered the pour over Gesha Natural. And while it was a $20+ cup of coffee it was some of the best coffee I've had The manager or owner was talking to friends when I was at the counter then looked at me without words as if to say "what do you want" without saying anything. I didn't love this. But the barista that took care of my order and then meticulously prepared my almost artisanal drink was a delight. This individual was not only informative, and a skilled professional barista, but they also were incredibly polite Some tips: If you are a coffee lover or hipster, definitely take a look at the pour over list. The bean costs change based on market value, but it's well worth it. You can always take your drinks to go. Also, you can purchase beans there as well Cheers!!

I’m extremely disappointed in the service I had today. I asked for an ube oat milk latte with a splash of condensed milk and 1/2&1/2 and a caramel latte. After telling me no and giving me a bunch of attitude, they gave me a cup of milk with ube at the bottom. No espresso. When I asked where the espresso was one of the men then pulled the shot and proceeded to try and pour it on the already overflowing cup. I asked him to take out the ice instead of pouring out the milk because that would mess with the recipe, he then proceeded to still pour out half the milk and pour espresso on top. I tried it before I left and it was DISGUSTING. I asked him to remake my drink and he kept saying, “I can put more ube in it”….. As an experienced barista I’m very disappointed in the service i received today. I don’t like bringing up the fact that i know what im talking about but these baristas were just doing anything back there. They never even cleaned the portafilter or purged the machine before pulling shots. I know every shop is different but this isn’t okay ANYWHERE. Also the caramel latte tasted burnt. You guys are too concerned with latte art that you forget the drink needs too me made correctly as well. Dropping my latte art pics for the bald guy at the register who clearly kept undermining me.
