We searched an entire week for authentic Louisiana boiled seafood and after three strikes finally found the place that offers the real deal. Not only that, but the margaritas are amazing! The crawfish were boiled perfectly and seasoned properly; boiled with the seasoning and not just slathered with powder after the fact. I suspect Zatarains (the ONLY boil!) which is a good thing. The garlic sauce is a great touch on top of some seafood dip. Only a couple non-edible crawfish out of the entire nine pounds we order which is incredible as you are bound to get some of those; other restaurants in the area had about 10-20% that had to be discarded. Portions were as advertised. Service was really great. Atmosphere was exactly what you should expect at a proper seafood shack, and probably even better when they have the live band going. The manager even stopped by to ask how everything was which we really appreciated. For anybody looking for an authentic boiled seafood experience in Houston, I would recommend Paul's in a heartbeat. Thanks Paul's and looking forward to tearing-up the next 9lbs of crawfish!

02/25/24 update: I'm not usually an oysters guy, but Paul's Mexican Oysters are BANGIN'. The margaritas, fried shrimp, garlic butter shrimp and homemade brownies with ice cream are also all excellent. Paul's also makes a mean fish sandwich. This trip, we had the Mexican Oysters, 24 oz. blue margarita (oh yeah), big fish sandwich, fish and chips and brownie with ice cream. All were seriously delicious and very reasonably priced. Fun spot to have a drink on the deck or on top of the boat and take in a view of the sunset. Festive down-home hangout with great food and drinks. Paul's has done some tasteful recent makeovers: fresh paint, new deck and upgrades. Really chill and festive. The bar, restaurant and patio were impeccably clean and showed great pride in ownership. Check-out Paul's for some killer seafood and a laid-back pirate bar. If you aren't a fan of Paul's, you're probably a Karen.

Food was tasty, service was good friendly, Food was serve on aluminum tray, on the tray was a decorative paper with the food on top of the paper ( red snapper, shrimp, Paul’s rice, pico de gallo), the paper got really soggy with the food and I think I ate half of that paper, too late when I realized I was eating the paper, also we had burgers, burgers were tasty good, that’s what my kids said 😌( jalapeño cheddar burger, American burger) the burgers were kind of small size, the fries were crispy. The price didn’t fit the size/amount of food, yes there was some flies, mosquitos, I was there before 7pm, I don’t know how the atmosphere is later on, the place is old so don’t expect anything fancy, if you planning on going, it’s an old boat, shack vibe..They do have a kids menu, but it’s more of a grownups place, I gave it a 4 star for taste, friendliness⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've lived in the area my entire life. I've always heard of Paul's. Passed it by a million times. Tonight I finally decided to stop and check it out. First, there was no where to park. I had to park down the street. Got inside and waited to be seated. The waitress or bartender told me to sit wherever I wanted.. sat down at a table and immediately laid my arm in a puddle of beer I hadn't noticed. Then I waited.. and waited.. and about 20 minutes later the same lady asked me if I had been helped. I said no and she finally grabbed me a menu and took my drink order. Then about another 20 minutes later, another gentleman asked me again if I had been helped. I said yes, but still hadn't received my drink or had my order taken. He told me they were busy (understandable) and then proceeded to tell me that it would probably be 45-an hour for my food to arrive.. So needless to say, I left 😓 The food smelled good. I was looking forward to my burger. But I had already been there almost an hour. Couldn't wait another. Maybe I'll try again someday. But tonight's experience made me weary.. Also the guy they had playing music was...

I decided to surpise my husband by bringing him to this spot on our anniversary since it was one of the places we went to when we initially dated. We hadn't been there in four years, and when we parked we noticed the curb appeal could have been better. There was a broken restaurant sign on the ground and overgrown weeds. We sat outside the last time we went, so we decided to sit inside this time because it was hot. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere, we ordered margaritas and food. We noticed that the a/c wasn't working as we were waiting and decided to stay since we already placed our order. We were told that the a/c tech doesn't service a/c's on Sundays. We asked for the check when we got our food, and we were not offered anything to entice us to come back to the sweatbox. We were not offered a discount nor any compensation towards the current or future visit for the inconvenience. Sitting outside probably would have been better because we may have gotten a breeze. It's actually sickening to think about the staff sweating while cooking food and serving drinks to...
