Tried this new spot and have to say unfortunately, we won't return. My niece ordered what was labeled on the menu as "cajun shrimp pasta". When it arrived to the table, we were both turned off by the presentation. It looked like chef boyardee spaghetti with shrimp on top. It also tasted EXACTLY like that. My niece went to the counter to return and the lady at the counter asked her if she tried it because "its in the sauce". Maam, it is BECAUSE of the sauce this is being returned. Then, she was told that they would charge her 25% of the cost of the plate since she just didn't like it and not because it was a fault of the kitchen. Fine. She ordered a poboy which was $7.99. The pasta was $11.99. So, with the 25% charge, we should have been left with an $8 "credit" , which should have covered the cost of the poboy. Yet somehow, the manager (?) Told my niece she still owed $2.65. We are both wracking our brains trying to figure out what sort of math was performed to arrive at this conclusion. We couldn't. Finally, the manager comes to the table to tell us we somehow confused him with the math...of his establishment's own 25% policy ...🤔..... but we didn't owe anything else. Great. My niece was fairly satisfied with her poboy but felt they were a bit skimpy with the shrimp. We also had boudain balls which were pretty tasty. Meanwhile, I ordered garlic butter crawfish and house blend seasoning. They both tasted exactly the same. Not kidding. And there was a LOT of seasoning that had been dumped on top of the crawfish. They weren't awful, but they definitely were not really good either. The place was relatively clean. Simply put, we don't feel there was anything worth returning for...
Read moreI have been passing by this restaurant for about 2 years, and I kept saying I wanted to try it out. Well the day finally can and my sister and I stopped for a late lunch. We ordered the stuffed shrimp which comes with fries and the Large shrimp basket w/ steamed broccoli, red potatoes, jalapeño hush puppies, 1 Lipton peach tea and 1 peach crush. After receiving our order, my sister noticed we were missing the hush puppies. At this point I had been in and out of the restaurant ( we were sitting outside) asking for paper towels and getting silverware. So, maybe 3 minutes had passed. So, when my sister told me we were missing the hush puppies I went back in and told the young lady at the counter, she called the other young lady who took my order to come assist me. I told her that I didn’t received the hush puppies and she told up. She went to the back and asked the cooked. She then said that the cooked said she fixed it and put it on my plate. So, now I’m not happy, I told her to come and see. We walked outside to my table and visibly moved my food around for her and she walked around the table like she was trying to see if we were hiding hush puppies! lol. After investigating and looking for evidence she went back inside and about 3 minutes later she came back with the hush puppies and apologized. APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED! we will never visit this establishment again. Side note: they are not worth...
Read more⭐️ I’ve been coming to La Crawfish Shack since moving to Houston and have never had any issues — until recently. I purchased 5 lbs of crawfish driving 40 minutes there and 40 minutes back home. When my wife and I started eating them, we noticed something was off. At first, we thought we were imagining it, but after a few more bites, it was clear — this was a bad batch.
I called and spoke to the manager and explained the situation. He told me I would need to bring the crawfish back to get a refund and that they would weigh them. I told him we had already eaten some and I’d rather just throw them away than drive 40 minutes back. He insisted they had to weigh them.
Holding on to some hope, I made the drive back, expecting they would take care of me as a loyal customer. When I arrived, he weighed what was left and told me we had eaten too much, so he would only refund me $28 out of the $80 I spent. I was absolutely livid.
This used to be my go-to crawfish spot. I’ve recommended hundreds of people here — from family visiting out of town to coworkers and clients. But after how this was handled, I will never do business with them again. I let the manager know before I left: you’ve lost a...
