Taco Cabana as a franchise-based, fast-food Tex-Mex restaurant is quite good, but this particular is hard for me to review. On the one hand, I've got years of memories coming to this restaurant with my wife and kids enjoying every moment of the great food and wonderful atmosphere. However, on the other hand, I'm seeing that time and circumstance has not served this particular Taco Cabana well. Though I know this situation is not Taco Cabana's fault, I was quite concerned to see a homeless encampment set up right across the parking lot from the restaurant. I have nothing against homeless individuals, but just as people, over time, will show multiple facets of their personality, the facet that concerned me was that the presence of the homeless caused the restaurant to lock their doors. I had ordered a meal from the restaurant on Taco Cabana's app, but when I got there, signs explicitly said to pick up the order inside. The locked doors prevented me from doing so until an employee came to the door, unlocked it, and allowed me in to gather up my meal. I commented to them about the homeless encampment so close by wondering if that was why the employees locked the doors. The employee told me the doors were locked because the homeless would get in the restrooms and make a mess in there that the employees would then have to clean up. They couldn't do much about it, so locking the doors was, I guess, a workable solution. As I went home, I lamented how much that particular restaurant has fallen from its former heights of great food and great service. Homelessness is a problem that must be tackled. I understand that Taco Cabana has to protect both its patrons and image, but I find it hard to see how the restaurant can return to its former glory with the homeless encampment just about 100 feet away. This is a good restaurant with good employees who need to be appreciated and supported. I just wish there were a way to meet the needs of both the restuarant and the homeless somewhere in between. Best of luck in...
Read moreI placed an online order for my husband and I to be ready for pick up at 8:15pm. I arrived at location and it took about 15 min for me to get acknowledged only for them to say my order was not ready yet. I told them ok I will be back and left to buy 3 items that I needed from foodtown. I came back to taco cabana and had to wait another minute then my order was given to me @ 8:46pm. I looked at the bag saw two food containers said thank you and walked out. Once home my husband opens the bag takes out the food container that belong to him and before I could get to the table he says " hun why didn't you get anything?" I replied what do you mean and saw that I only had one order in the bag, immediately I grab the food container place it on the bag and take off. Once at the restaurant it took again around 10 min to get acknowledged then I told them I'm sorry this order is incomplete. The lady looks at the receipt and says "what do you mean" while she gave me a crazy look so I replied I'm missing and order she looks back at the paper and says no you don't to which I get my phone and show her a screenshot of my order and what I paid. She then said you paid for one only so I said ok so an enchilada plate cost $21.52 she said no then finally realized that I was missing food tells me she can make it but has to finish all the orders she has first if not to call corporate to get my money back. I did ask for the number but was getting no answer at all just like when I called the restaurant before ordering online it always went straight to voice-mail. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and then I was out the door finally with a complete order. NEVER AGAIN I've had other not so good experience at this same location but my husband wanted to give them another chance so now he is convinced...
