Vallejo Sweet Mango Refresqueria — Restaurant in Houston

I don’t know why I haven’t tried this spot sooner. Especially living so close to it for so long! They have a variety of snack to choose from. I tried their “Pepino Preparado, Manzana Preparado, and Agua De Pepino”. I want to point out that the agua fresca I got was AMAZING. I thought it was something they had ready for you but no it was freshly made. That is a plus right there because I can imagine all their others aguas frescas tasting just as good. It’s a small little shop, with enough sitting to come in and munch.

The Manzana Preparado consisted of apples wrapped in like a tamarind strip with Chamoy, Tajín, gummy worms, Japanese peanuts, and salsaghetti. I might be missing something else but it had a little bit of everything. Mixture of sweet & sour. Not spicy to me at least. Also for the Pepino Preparado, it had the same ingredients as the manzana. I stopped by because I was in the area and wanted either fresh fruit or an agua Fresca. Well I walked in and was greeted immediately- awesome. I asked for recommendations as I always do. The lady in the front was nice and informed me of the selection. I asked her to surprise me with the agua Fresca and a fruit cocktail. Everything was great and she made an amazing blend for my drink! I only go to this refresqueria if it's late and if my to go one is closed. This place is really expensive and most of the time I have an issue with my order. Things I do not recommend getting are fresas with crema and El Diabilito. Fresas con crema is just whipped cream with a drizzle of condensed milk, which is not how it is done.
