Pat D's Pizza — Restaurant in Howell Township

Very good food but the wait time for deliveries is outrageous. After the third time we had trouble, I'm done with this place. We were told an hour, and it was just short of two hours before the pizza arrived. I called at the 1:20 mark to get a status and was told they were behind because they only had one delivery driver working and that the food was leaving right then. 25 minutes later, I called again and was told, again, that they were behind and the food should be there any minute. The counter person called the driver and was told he was "less than 5 minutes away", and it was nearly 10 more minutes before the food finally arrived.

It was lukewarm, and had that distinctive "sitting around for awhile" taste and texture that only pizza has. My wife's personal vegan pie was barely edible, and had been sitting around so long that the wax paper was stuck to it (see pictures) and my personal pie was cold by the time I started my second piece. Clearly, they are unable to maintain the normal quality in such situations.

I understand that things happen and it's out of the restaurant's control when they do, but setting the proper expectations is the key. Had I been told that there would be an extensive wait, I could have at least had the option of not ordering or preparing for the longer wait. And while the employee who I spoke with meant well and was profusely apologizing, she also was essentially arguing with me about the factors that were beyond their control. Perhaps if they are that overwhelmed with their normal delivery drivers, they should consider using one of the third party services as well.

I won't be ordering from here again. Fool me once, fool me twice and...

I don't know where to start. Was visiting my brother in law in Jackson and decided to have pizza for dinner. My wife heard about a pizzeria called Pat Ds something or other in Howell so we went. I'm not a fan of Brooklyn's L&B's square pizza, here in NJ they call it an upside-down pizza so they ordered it as an appetizer. When you're born and raised in Bensonhurst Brooklyn you know pizza, this was an Amazing pie. If I didn't order my favorite dish Zuppa De Pesce which was as good as in any restaurant, I would have eaten the rest of the pie. I had to ask before Espresso and the owner Anthony ( a real nice guy) told me he buys his Mutzz from Leones in Brooklyn, his Pasta from Queen Ann on 18th Ave and his meat from Whole Foods. When you use top quality products and top of the line ingredients it makes a big difference. He had a distributor who told him this is Howell NJ why spend money on quality, He dumped him. I live in Old Brige or I'd be there...

This place is my new and FOREVER go to the food is incredible just incredible! It's Real it's authentic! The owner who is incredible himself, buys and imports all his ingredients from New York and Italy 🇮🇹 he wants only the best for his customers. And I know this just from speaking to him ., the wings are delicious for an awesome price ! The meatball parm sandwiches are so delicious and not to mention the owners grandmothers original recipe !!!.. this place Pat D's in Howell N.J.across from Howell Lanes... is a MUST A Must Try ... You Won't be Sorry !!!!!.... plus I have to say the associates who answer the phone are so pleasant and always get the orders perfect and the Tomato 🍅 Sauce 🤌 I have Never tasted such great sauce it's better then my own it's truly so delicious Sometimes they sell it by the Quart ....!!! ... If you read this stop in and tell them...
