Waffle House — Restaurant in Hubbard Township

I cannot believe the difference from my last experience. Worst experience I have ever had at a Waffle House. My wife ordered the hashbrown bowl (which the waitress even mentioned has onions). She also requested mushrooms and jalapeños in the hashbrown bowl. My son ordered a chocolate chip waffle with sausage. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger with her hashbrowns covered with cheese and topped with chili. I ordered a bowl of burt's chili with cheese and jalapeños. When I ordered my chili, the waitress pulled a face like cheese and jalapeños is gross on chili when its not at all abnormal. The food arrived timely but with several problems. My wife's order was not only missing the mushrooms and jalapeños but also the onions it should already come with. My son's waffle had no chocolate chips and my daughter's hashbrowns were missing chili. My chili arrived and was the only thing served correctly. We then listened to the cook try to argue that the hashbrown bowl doesn't come with onions despite the menu clearly saying it does. We didn't even mention the chocolate chips missing from the waffle because my son did not feel like waiting for a new waffle. We were able to get the missing ingredients taken care of. At this point, I still had not received a refill on my coffee since receiving my first cup. After finishing my chili, my coffee was still empty. My wife finished eating and was so irritated that my coffee was still empty that she went took my mug to our server, who was sitting at the counter at the other end of the place, to get me a refill. My previous review of this place was good and I praised this place. But after this experience, I will not be returning to any Waffle House locations. When we arrived, I was excited to go to waffle house and put some tunes on the jukebox. I know the food is not great and did not enter the place with high expectations. Somehow, despite very low expectations, this place managed to still let me down hard. I arrived in a great mood enthusiastic to be there. I left furious and disappointed. Place isn't even cheap. It cost me $34.00 to ruin my night. Imagine McDonald's quality at regular diner price. Now imagine that place run by two of the three stooges only its not actually funny. That is Waffle...

So after a long day of work I decided to pop in and get some food, and by the grace of God I laid my eyes on the most beautiful delicacy I have ever seen. It might not seem so extraordinary to your average Joe, but to me, oh my, was it perfect. It's name was iceberg lettuce. I asked how much it was for just a flake, and they said not much. So That's what I ordered, a flake of lettuce, perfectly plated i might add. And this to me, is how a perfectly good family tradition is started. A flake of lettuce and a dream. As this lettuce was placed in front of me glistening in its moistness, I decided to add a twist. What you might ask? I decided to put some perfectly delectable Heinz yellow mustard right on top. Now my masterpiece was finished. Before I indulged in this ever so delectable meal, the only thing I needed was a glass of good ol fashioned sink water. They brought it with no questions asked, no ice or anything, just the way I like it. (Outstanding customer service, they were nothing short of perfect). But now it was time; time for me to take my first bite into what would turn out to be the most delectable meal of my entire life. My fork raced to the plate, stabbed into the lettuce (now slightly covered in mustard) and made it's way to my mouth. The sensory reaction that my taste buds had put off when that hit my tongue was incredible. Never again will i order anything other than lettuce with mustard on top from anywhere I go. If they cannot offer it I will come right back here to this waffle house. Five stars is not enough to describe my experience here. I sure hope more people decide to try what I later learned turned out to be the best meal of my life. If you are in the mood to try something new and life changing, head down to waffle house in Hubbard. And don't forget to ask for the lettuce...

I have always loved Waffle House. Good, reasonably priced food. Like any restaurant, you may encounter not too good of days, but management has always been apologetic and willing to right the wrong. I was at this location early this morning (3) and encountered poor service. It was ok but certainly not as great as usual. I will say, I believe it was a staffing issue more than anything. 1 waiter and 1cook trying to handle all the customers doesn't always work. The price of drinks is high ($2) for my standards, but their iced tea is freshly brewed, not out of a package. Also I can get as many refills as I want. As usual, my food was hot, made as I ordered and good. I would recommend Waffle House!! Any problems I've encountered have been minor. Especially compared to what I've encountered at some upscale, fine dining...
