Whoa, whoa, whoa! Did they get a new chef? Because everything is amazing now! They all tasted like what could have come out of my parents’ kitchen, not a takeout place.

For tonight’s dinner, our family ordered beef teriyaki, broccoli beef, tangerine chicken, chicken tenders, and vegetable fried rice.

First, the rice had a very balanced flavor - neither salty nor bland. The texture was very nice and fresh, too, rather than hard and dry. I never really liked Nan King’s fried rice in the past, but it was very good tonight.

Next, the beef teriyaki. It was so tender and with a delicious, balanced flavor. The grilled meat was so good, and the amount was decent, too. It wasn’t thin or dried. In the past, it was dried, thin, and salty. That is no longer the case.

The broccoli beef tasted so fresh and homemade! I could tell that they use fresh broccoli, and was cooked to the appropriate level of doneness - it was cooked but still has a nice crunch, instead of overly soft. The beef pieces were thick, non - fatty, and very tender.

Then, we have the tangerine chicken. The meat came in generous - sized pieces, not tiny. It was very juicy, and the sauce was a perfectly balanced blend of sweet, savory, and tangy. The tangerine sauce tasted natural and homemade, not something from a jar.

Lastly, the chicken tenders! All huge pieces, juicy, and such a pleasure to eat.

We ordered our food for pickup very late, too, at 9PM, near closing time, yet the food they gave us was 100% fresh, not something that had been sitting out all day.

Honestly, I’m very impressed and, if you have never had Nan King’s food before, or haven’t visited them recently, give their food a chance. We ordered so much and were pleased with everything.

The only complaint I have is minor: their duck sauce was watered down and was more orange - y than it was in the past, when it was more of a slightly brownish color. Also, it tasted a bit too tart, whereas it used to be more balanced. However, this is not a big deal at all, because the actual food...

Nan King has the worst buffet I have ever been too, and I've been to many lackluster buffets. They obviously didn't care about the quality of the food they put out. There selection was only one-third of the selection I have seen in other buffets so my family of five did in fact try everything that they offered. Every single item (except the chicken fingers) was old and hard or old and congealed. It had all dried out under the heat lamps. I wish I'd gone with my gut the moment I saw the food and taken my family elsewhere. Instead we decided to give it a fair try and we're sorely disappointed for it. Their dessert selection was pudding snack packs and a few unwrapped Hostess snack cakes. I asked if they could please replace the donuts because they are my children's favorite dessert item and the ones available were as hard as hockey pucks and cold. THEY SAID NO! We grabbed some fortune cookies assuming that they at least would be all right and they were stale as well. My one year old spit hers out and said "yucky". I couldn't have agreed more. I don't really care that their buffet would be shutting down in a couple of hours; food quality should be consistent and restaurants should take pride in their products. They should not be pushing obviously old food in order to make money and cut food waste. We paid our bill and hurried out after that, not wanting to be there anymore and were meet with glares and a loud, angry sounding conversation between the host and our server where they would speak to each other while constantly looking over at us. I don't expect to be liked for asking them to replace old food, but I was very polite about it, even after they refused. I paid my bill, left a fair tip and was treated like a criminal upon exit. I will never return to...

When you leave before you receive your meal there is a huge problem, My family and I have Dinner at Nan King every New year's Eve. I have never been treated with any more disrespectful service in my life. First we are told to seat ourselves not a big deal, but as we pass through the dining room. We noticed none of the tables had been cleaned off! Still we took our seats and placed our order. 2 1/2 hours later we received rice and that is it! Our waitress was rude as all get up! She showed the entire order to the other guests, asking who ordered each individual item before placing it on the table. Well after 4 hours and only receiving rice and one drink. For a party of 5, 3 of which were little kids. We decided to go out to the desk pay and leave. But apparently that is a crime, because we told our waitress that and how disappointing the experience was. For her to chase us throughout the restaurant! Shouting about how we were trying to skip out on our bill! Not only that but cornered my children and attempted to keep them from getting to me! We were finally able to pay and leave, but not before they attempted to charge us for the entire meal we never received!

Better not go, You shouldn't risk you or your children's sanity...

Tried this place today. Rarely leave reviews but feel like I needed to. Lunch combo.. general gaos chicken with beef teriyaki, hot and sour soup and pork fried rice. 1 hot and sour soup, hot no flavor at all. Had a chicken tender giant tofu peice in the bottom. Kinda lazy. Hard to goof up hot and sour soup. 2 pork fried rice... its rice but literally no flavor. 3 teriyaki... the toughest peice of beef I've had in a long time. No real flavor. Not what you would expect. 4 chicken. Super tough, overcooked. Sauce flavor was is no way spicy as stated on menu or flavorful. Literally only 5 smaller peices in container. 5 portion size... literally the smallest take out portion size I've ever seen from a take out place.. easily 4 inches smaller in each direction than the standard chineese take out container. Oh and half as high too. 6 fortune cookie. Felt like fortune was printed on construction paper. Tasted and chewed like it was 10 years old or open to air. I'm not sure how they have good reviews if this is thier food. Suggest you skip it. There are better places nearby.

Stopped in here for lunch with a friend and walking in was regular looking Chinese Restaurant. You can tell it has been there for awhile just from looking at the decor. We were the only ones in the dining room area so very quiet. We could barely hear any noise from the bar. We ended up ordering Pork Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon and Boneless Spareribs and my buddy ordered a combination plate. The server was very friendly. 10 minutes later food was delivered and did it look and smell good. I will say all of it was very good but the Boneless Spareribs were incredible. The sauce they use is great tasting with some fat on them that adds so much more flavor. The rice was moist but dry like it should be and the Crab Rangoon was very full and good size, tasty. Definitely my solid #2 Chinese Restaurant to eat at. I will be visiting again. I would highly recommend going here if in the area.

I've enjoyed coming to Nan King for many years. The menu has been expanded to include food from other Asian countries in addition to Chinese, all of which is excellent. The drinks here are very good and not too expensive. The bar can be a very entertaining place with karaoke, darts and pool leagues, juke box, all the major sports interests on the four televisions, and just plain people watching- both locals and stragglers alike. Come on in, pull up a chair, sit down, order the House Special Pad Thai and a Mai Tai, and enjoy the show! Very much recommended.
