Really good Chinese food for a decent price. We got the pu pu platter for two and it was great. The fried food was fresh and crispy and the beef teriyaki was tender and full of flavor. Sesame chicken and house rice was also great.
Had a chance to meet the owner, May. She was very nice and checked to see if I was happy with the food and service. Not a cursory “is everything okay?” She really does care about how they are doing. It’s her place and wants to make sure her customers are happy.
Alice was our waitress and checked in with us regularly to see if there was anything we needed.
The restaurant itself is very nice. Everything was clean and organized. The seating and tables were in great shape. Nice ambience too with the calm lighting.
There’s plenty of parking outside. It's not super well lit, so you need to be careful of people driving like knuckleheads in their pickup trucks racing across through the parking lot, presumably so they can get to the bar before it closes (yeah, I encountered one of those folks when I was leaving).
The entrance to the restaurant is well lit, and has gentle tiered ramps for handicap access. They have music playing outside in the deck area if you'd like to eat outside.
Only downside I could find was the bathroom was kind of shelled when we got there in the evening. It smelled fine and there were no superheroes who the missed the toilet. Just the waste baskets were full and there was paper on the floor. I wouldn't knock it too much though. They don't have a lot of staff and everyone was busy working and trying to eat a little bit of food when they got a moment. I'm sure every evening thing is restocked and cleaned. We went on a Friday night so the bathroom situation is totally understandable.
Overall, it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back to give them more business. This is one independent restaurant that I want to see survive the scamdemic. Great bunch of people and...
Read moreAfter being locked up in my house with a 12 week old German Shepard Puppy and a 10 week old kitten and a wife who after 27 years tapped out from the stress. I really needed a few minutes to breath. I saw the comedy show advertised at this place and decided to go. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! It was a complete hassle getting checked in. There was no seating. There, being only one waitress I was horrified at how hard it was to get 1 drink and an appetizer. I was seated at the comics table where I tried to make pleasant conversation with the Host of the show. Once again A BIG MISTAKE!!! Sweetheart you were so disrespectful to me and to be quite honest...once you got up to the stage you were not really that funny...along with the next comedian up. After finally getting the drink and appetizers I so desperately needed...I ate and drank quickly just to get out of there. I was appalled at how disrespectfully I was treated that night...I would not return if you offered me a free meal and show!!! Thank you for the relaxing hour I so desperately needed...NOT. I will never return and will let anyone who asks know of the terrible experience I...
Read moreThe food here is pretty average, but the service if your seated at a table is awful. I was here last valentines day and it happened to be snowing pretty hard. My fiancee and I were the only ones seated in the dining area. We ordered some dumplings, and our meals. After 30 minutes our meals came out...before the appetizer. When we asked about the dumplings they said they would be right out, but we told them we were no longer interested because it was supposed to be an appetizer. I went back last week with my fiancee, my sister and her boyfriend and again we waited for about 25 minutes for dumplings, even though we were one of two tables seated in the dining area. We were also served expired beers...I will not be going back...if you want Chinese food in Hudson, go to Nan King or Zen Garden, better service and...
