Before I write my review, I'd like to preface that I understand how deeply effected many businesses have been by COVID, and that a staffing shortage isn't always within the control of the establishment. While I have compassion, there are things that I could not overlook on my visit. I came from almost 2 hours away due to the good ratings, and I was sorely disappointed by my experience.
On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and were told we'd have a 15-20 minute wait. That was fine with us, and we were called in 20 minutes on the dot. Once we were seated, our waitress was over for our drink order within a few minutes and those were out soon after they were ordered.
For our appetizer, we chose the Honey Sriracha Chicken. That was out in approximately 20 minutes. The honey flavor was strong and the tenders were juicy and crispy, and the breading was excellent, but they were lacking in Sriracha flavor. By the end I still hadn't tasted any amount of kick. It was disappointing.
Our waitress took our food order when the appetizer came out. We ordered the Pineapple Pico Fish Tacos with Sweet Potato Fries and the special Steakhouse Steak Tips.
We waited over an hour for our food, and our waitress only checked on us once over the hour we were waiting. We were told 20 minutes before the food came out that it was coming out promptly. When it finally did come, the presentation was sloppy on both plates. The tacos looked thrown together, and the steak tips with vegetables and mashed potatoes were just sort of slopped on the plate. The flavor was extremely bland and I was very disappointed for $22 a plate. It was mostly mashed potatoes with 6 steak tips thrown on top. The haddock in the tacos was excellent, but there was hardly any tartar sauce or pico. It was mostly fish and tortilla. The tacos were small, and there were only 2 on a $15 dish. It was more like an appetizer size. The sweet potato fries didn't come out until 15 minutes after the rest of the food. The waitress did apologize and said the food should not have taken that long. I'd also like to note that when the next table came in, she let them know about the long wait so they could make the choice to stay or not. That was definitely a plus in our book for giving the heads up.
Beyond that, while we were waiting, we noticed a significant amount of dust on the tops of the booths, and crumbs under tables and on our booths and others. The cleanliness piece didn't make me feel secure and it should be addressed.
Overall, the experience was a negative one and the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because our waitress and the hostess were friendly, and the honey chicken appetizer and haddock for the tacos were cooked perfectly. We were given a complimentary bowl of chips due to the wait, and while we appreciated the gesture, it wasn't nearly enough to redeem the experience. The only thing that might have helped is if our waitress had updated us throughout the wait, so we at least had an idea.
We know every place has bad days, and with the amount of good reviews it shows that there is some good here. We're willing to chalk it up to a bad day, but we wanted to let you know about...
Read moreI recently moved to the area, and I had never heard of a "T-Bones" before. I am quite familiar with Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn, however. I was in the mood for a steak and didn't want to cook, so I said to myself let's give this place a try, it's something new to me. Before going, I looked up the menu online. My eyes bulged out when I saw the prices. "Well... ok, maybe it's that expensive because it's REALLY good. It has some good reviews" I thought.
I went, was seated, and had to wait 10 minutes for a server to come see me. It was not super busy, so there is no excuse. Even IF they were short staffed, someone should have been by within 3 minutes to at least ask if I wanted a drink, 10 minutes is crazy. I ordered the sirloin and a coke. I got bread, which was cold and a little dry, it tasted like it had been sitting out for a bit. Nowhere near as good as Texas Roadhouse rolls and butter, or Longhorn bread and butter. A small, basic salad come with the meal. It was "ok". When my main course was dropped off, a different server dropped it off and kept walking. Didn't ask if it looked right or if I needed anything else.
The steak was cooked as I had asked (medium) but it had no juice, no spices, no sauce no butter, no marinade of any kind. It was just a hunk of beef. I would have asked to get something.... but nobody came by. Oh well, salt and pepper it is. Even with a really expensive piece of beef like a filet mignon, I like some spice/butter sauce or something, this had nothing. The steak was not very flavorful, just tasted like a cheap steak. Food was warm, not hot. The sides were ok; the broccoli was honestly the best part of the meal. Server checked on me when I was 2/3s done with the meal. Too late to fix anything, so I said "I'm fine"
My real issue was for this very mediocre food, the price BEFORE tip was like $45. With tip (I tipped anyway because that's how the server survives, and they didn't cook the food or set the prices) came to around $54. That is FAR more expensive than other competitive restaurants in the area. If the sirloin had been priced at $27.99, I wouldn't be annoyed enough to leave a negative review, but 37.99 (before tax/tip/drink) $54 total for this is crazy. Just for perspective, I could have gone to Chen Yang Li twice for this price and had a better meal, or gone to Whole Foods and gotten their entree and 2 sides ($12-$14) FOUR times for the price of one meal at T-Bones, or cooked my own Filet Mignon (much better cut of meat) plus baked potato and a veggie twice for the cost. I just do not understand how the price is justified for the quality. For an apples-to-apples comparison, Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn are cheaper (not much, but still cheaper) and better. There are simply multiple much better choices in the area to spend my money at and get better value than...
Read moreTo preface this review, I have been a bartender/server for 25 years. I go to the t-bones in Concord and Bedford on a weekly basis. I was extremely disappointed with the service and environment at this location. We arrived around 3, sat at a table by the bar. I love the happy hour and was excited to try a new location. It took 15 minutes to get a drink. After our first round, we had no service whatsoever. I know how much T Bones cares about their service, so I think you should know. The staff isn’t friendly, bartenders and waitstaff have a really nasty, unapproachable look. If I were a manager here, I would want to know. It takes 2 seconds to say “Hi! How’s it going, be right over!” The vibe here is the completely opposite. You feel like an inconvenience. I’m sure if you’re a “regular” you’re good to go, but unfortunately not everyone is a regular. You should treat everyone the same way. Again, I have been in the service industry and a bar manager myself, you never know who you are serving. We had servers walking by left in right with tunnel vision views. With the remodel, I would seriously reevaluate your staff. Will continue to go to Bedford and concord location, I will not be back to Hudson. Please, mangement, take a second to observe how your bar area staff interacts. PSA for those going here, don’t feel bad if you’re ignored, it’s the normal if you aren’t here 7 days a week, apparently. Our meals were great, on another note. T Bones in Hudson, please do better and PLEASE look like you enjoy being here. Smile, be personable, or don’t work in...
