We read about this restaurant on our way to spend the weekend in the area and one of us wants to be a food critic, and the reviews said this was affordable, so why not. The staff is welcoming, accommodating and make you feel like you belong. Which was so nice and warm. Didn’t feel like we were too out of place. The manager was super kind and you really should take note that she is very attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful and worth taking a gander over. Beautiful animals spread through the restaurant. So check the bar area and the over 130 year old bar back. Absolutely stunning. Now to the food, it was pretty amazing all around. No complaints. Two in the party opted to share a 12 oz New York Strip and the kitchen did an amazing job splitting the meal, we also had the prime rib and the ribeye meals. Food was presented beautifully, it was extremely well prepared and very delicious. Didn’t have to worry if anything would have come under or over cooked. At this point we knew what we were getting for our price and while it can be affordable, for a standard American Family passing through the area it is not. It’s along the lines of $$$-$$$$ per meal. That truly was the only bad thing I have to say about the locaation. If you got the burgers or other meal it would be a bit more affordable but getting the steak meal took it out of affordable. Do stop and have a meal if you can...
Read moreCan’t say enough good things about this place! The staff members at the Wyoming Welcome Center recommended it to us when we inquired about where best to eat after our visit to Devil’s Tower. They said it was open to the public and had incredible views and great food. I couldn’t get a reservation online but called and was able to make one. The food was delicious. I wish I had taken photos. Prices are on par for a steakhouse. The kids meal was a great value. I wish they had a small steak option on the kids menu though! My husband and son had steaks - the flat iron had virtually no fat and both were seasoned well and cooked to perfection as each requested. The salmon was seasoned and cooked well and the garlic mashed potatoes were flavorful and a huge portion! We were surprised by the size of the kids meal when it came out - three huge chicken fingers and a mound of fries. Includes a drink. We ate on the patio which had a gorgeous view of the golf course, and the service was fantastic. Kim was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and so kind. Even the food runner who brought us our food was friendly and helpful! We felt welcome, comfortable, and were able to enjoy our meal in the casual setting. We all left satisfied...
Read moreI used to own a steakhouse restaurant and I know good beef. This is Wyoming, beef country they say. Well, the two prime rib dinners we had at a premium price, were very mediocre at best. The actual quality of the beef was most likely not better that "select" grade, less than USDA Choice. I have had better rib at casino buffets. The biggest sin is that these folks don't know how to season or cook a rib roast. At this price point, I expected much better quality. Next, the baked potato. So far, not one restaurant in Wyoming has served me a decent sized (known as size 50 or 60, the number of potatoes in a box) potato. Always I get a Walmart size 90 potato. Next, for $50, I get canned corn? Nah...That's it. We ordered a crab cake appetizer for $18. That gets you two burgers of crab cakes...they were OK, but came out at the exact same time as our meal. Our wait-person asked if she wanted her to put our meals back in the warmer! Uh, no... Perhaps the absolute worse part of this entire experience was having our wait-person bring us the bill on an iPad and then stand there while I filled out her tip. Jeez...
