Red Rock Cafe — Restaurant in Hulett

I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am this place was open. After a long day of exploring Devil’s Tower and enjoying our KOA activities we realized we forgot to set our food out to thaw to cook for dinner. It was 8 o’clock and we were HANGRY. We arrive at this restaurant and was greeted by a gentleman who sat us at our table. Angel was our waitress and she was so kind. She brought us out some really good bread and honey butter to start with while we waited for our food. I ordered a chicken fried steak with brown gravy and a baked potato. We travel all over the country and enjoy many great meals, but the best chicken fried steak I ever had was at this restaurant. My husband enjoyed his steak and baked potato. Our daughters loved the salmon and French fries. After dinner our 6 year old wanted to ride the horse and the gentleman plugged it in and to get it started for her. This machine was not your typical slow galloping like the other, but it was almost like a jumping horse and he said he wished we could of seen her eyes because it surprised her. She loved that thing. 2025-06-21 I stopped here for breakfast this morning upon a recommendation from the locals. Great choice!

The rustic decor matches the persona of the town, and the friendly staff greeted me with a smile.

Nice variety of breakfast items. I choose the country omelet with eggs, bell peppers, onions, cheese, and bacon. $15.00, but the prices are on par with other restaurants in the area.

Great meal! Hearty helpings of hash browns and toast on the side. Brewed ice tea to wash it down.

Diane, my host, provided great conversation and information about the area. Most kind! This is the definition of customer service.

Stopped for lunch on a Thursday in mid July and had an excellent experience at Red Rock Cafe. They were busy but the staff were clearly working hard to provide excellent service. Four days into our road trip, this was the friendliest dining experience we had yet. The steak patty melt was excellent. My seat provided a view into the kitchen; I was impressed at the efficiency and energy of the ladies preparing the food. Bathroom was very clean, like being in someone’s home.
