Saltwater Diner — Restaurant in Hull

If I could give it 0 I would. We walked in on a Sunday morning and all tables were taken and we took 2 empty seats at the bar with the policy being seat yourself. There was 2 cups from the previous customer at the seat and didn't bother us knowing they were busy until about 5 minutes in when no one acknowledged us. As we sat and waited, without being asked what we wanted to drink or any acknowledgement and the dirty cups were still there, someone came over and began to clean the cups but didn't ask us for drink orders or anything. After some time we did place our order, we sat and waited for our food which did come out in a timely fashion. Right before the food was delivered to us, we overheard our waitress say "I hate his face, I just want to throw a plate at it." Now this could have been intended for someone else, but considering it was said by our waitress right before she handed us our food it is hard to think it was intended for someone else. This waitress was unprofessional, only seemed to focus on people who were regulars (would assume because she seemed to automatically know drink orders) but to say this within earshot is ridiculous. The food arrived and was sloppy and greasy and the order with egg whites seemed to be strangely green. The service was poor and somehow the food was even worse. We didn't touch our food, notified the waitress who didn't seem to really care so we got up and left. We will be contacting the manager this week over that comment was made. Btw, if you want a breakfast sandwich, you can only ask for a plain bagel and there are no gluten free...

Usally come here with my girlfriend to dine in or sometimes take out, sometimes it a hit or a miss with this place. Today I ordered the yogurt fruit bowl and have done so before for either me or my girlfriend, and it usally come out nice being in a cup and decorated with bule berrys, strawberrys and bananas and Granola. Today it came in a styrofoam container with barly any fruit maybe 3 blue berrys max and added some cerial for granola and what looked like someone took a spoonfull of yougut ploped it in there like it was prison food, which show me little to no care or effort in what you do. I usally don't write this stuff or do this but the amount of money you pay for stuff now a days and then the quality you get. We all order a muffin which came good and a breakfast burrito wrap which was also good. Maybe the cook was having a bad day i don't know but this isn't the first time...

Great atmosphere and great help. Has always been a pleasure to eat here, whether it was breakfast or lunch. Today I am even waiting 15 minutes till opening time . The owner / cook doesn’t dilly dally . You order and your food is on the counter or table expeditiously. It’s a local establishment with great local help and a local owner. What more could you ask for . Try it you won’t be disappointed . I forgot to mention how it’s a pleasure talking with the locals at the counter station if I’m eating there instead of a table . It’s always a pleasurable experience having a coffee and chatting with the locals too . Makes the morning even...
