Second time coming here. The service is really hit or miss. Called before and was told wait time would be 15 minutes. Get here, the wait was that so it's fine. We sat at the bar instead. So far so good right? Well, here is where it started to go downhill. My husband ordered coffee and a glass of water. Got his coffee but no water. I ordered a vanilla latte but they told me they can only do a regular latte with vanilla almond milk (not the best in my opinion but that could be just me). My husband and I then had to wait 15 minutes to get our food orders taken. Then we waited 45 minutes for the food to come out. He ordered corn beef hash, I ordered a veggie omelet with ham added to it. We ended up having our food packed up to go since we had other things to do today. We get home, my omelet doesn't even have the ham in it. His food ended up being okay. When the waitress brought our check we get told that the kitchen is slower than usual today. I get it but we were completely ignored regardless. And we sat at the bar. I'm sure we will come here again, but we were definitely disappointed with our visit today. First time we went, we had great service and all the food ordered was correct. Just something to consider when looking for places to eat.
Update: it really is hit or miss at this place regarding service. The food never fails and you can't go wrong with anything you order. But I continue to recommend to not sit at the bar. most likely, you will be ignored for a while until you get your...
Read moreMust have the chicken and waffles! Nice comfortable spot. Could be considered a hidden gem. Being a classically trainded Chef myself for over 12 years and working for the upper 3% of society I definitely think Green Street Cafe is a good spot. My girlfriend had the french toast. The french toast was good not rubbery and came out hot which is always a plus. I on the other hand order the chicken and waffles and let me tell you WOW! was I impressed. The chicken was soft, tender, juicy and well seasoned and the cheddar bacon waffle was delicate and crisp with delicious undertones of bacon, vanilla and cheddar. (Comes with jalapenos in the waffle as well but I opted that out) The sausage gravy that comes atop the chicken and waffles was excellent as well. It was rich, creamy, balanced and alround good. YUM, GREAT JOB GSC! I must admit though this was my first experience there and have yet to try more items on the menu but be assured I will be returning with high hopes :)
Side notes to GSC. Dora the server was excellent, great service and energy. With such a great dish available to your customers maybe consider having 100% maple syrup as an option or just adding it to your breakfast items. I brought my own today as I do any time I go out looking for good breakfast spots and let me tell you it really makes all the difference. Coffee was moderate at best. We had two cups and the were both lacking in body and flavor. Just a recommendation maybe try Pete's or Kirkland...
Read moreFor a place that only does breakfast and brunch I was disappointed, one would expect an exceptional breakfast especially based on the reviews that I read. I had the Green Street breakfast with banana macadamia pancakes, the pancakes were okay with the exception that I had a sticker from the banana cut up and stuck to 3 of the banana slices, not sure how that's even possible. The eggs were cold, bacon was cold and potatoes were warmish, the meal was all over the place as far as temperature was concerned. My wife had the huevos rancheros and experienced the same temperature issues, also the eggs were under cooked, the beans tasted stale and the sour cream had a strange texture. Another small gripe but a gripe none the less was the lack of spoons for our tea and coffee, we stirred our drinks with a knife. Overall a...
