Normita's Surf City Taco — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

This place is legit. Im from out of town and I wanted really good authentic Mexican tacos and I got exactly what I wanted here. It's really small and seems to get really busy for lunch so you might wait like 15 minutes for your order but it's worth it! I paid $7.25 plus tax for two good-sized carne asada tacos with a side of rice and beans and chips and salsa. It was so delicious! They prepare the food right in front of you and the fish tacos looked bomb too. I just wish they had given me lemon or had it out for me to grab for my tacos (Im Mexican..lemon on tacos is a must) I was too shy to ask for it since they were busy with a long line. And wish they offered aguas frescas, like horchata and Jamaica. This place would be perrrrfect if they had them! Those are the reasons I gave it only 4 stars, but other than that, the food is delicious, good quality meat, and authentic and I wish I could eat here on the regular but i live in Fresno 😩 Totally...

These burritos are unrivaled. I've truly never had a better burrito in my entire life, and I love Mexican food. The proportions are spot-on, the textures are addicting, and all the different tastes are perfectly balanced. I'M IN LOVE.

We've been staying in Huntington Beach for the month* and did research on where to go before the trip. We found Normitas on a list on Reddit and planned to try all the places on the list... instead we've gone to Normitas 3 times a week- and sometimes twice in a day. GO HERE AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

*We've been choosing spots around the country to live for a month since covid so we can travel but travel safely (and obviously have been getting tested before each move). Want to keep our friends in the restaurant industry safe as we try...

I stopped at Norma’s Surfside Tacos for dinner one night.

I ordered two fish tacos and that was it. They don’t have a large menu and apparently they have two types of fish tacos: grilled or fried. I didn’t stipulate and they gave me fried.

The tacos they served me were huge, fried and covered in a crema sauce, slaw . It was served with a side of tortilla chips as well.

The tacos were some of the best fried fish tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Crispy, mild flavored, the cream sauce was delightful. I’ll definitely be coming back as this place was easily a 5/5.

Only criticism is being cash only and no indoor seating but I understand. COVID changed everything and now with being short staffed they couldn’t accommodate an indoor space.
