So first off Iāve never written a review before but Iām pretty upset!! Iāve been coming to this bar for over a year since moving here from New England. I loved this bar because it was a New England bar and would play the patriots game with sound. Over the year I have brought local friends and other patriots fans into this bar giving this restaurant business! Today I was approached by the woman owner. I had been there for only ten minutes. She came up to me with not a nice attitude and didnāt introduce herself or say hi or anything. She goes are you going to be ordering food because apparently some of the servers there said that every time I come in and I only order toast and juice. Well that is far from the truth I have never ordered toast and juice not even once since coming in here over the year. I begin to explain Iāve only been sitting down for about 10 minutes and that yes I was going to be ordering food. She begins to explain that some of the server say that thatās the only thing I ordered and that sheās a business and just wanted to make sure and walks away. Iām pretty upset so I order my food and then I go up to her and explain how disrespected and uncomfortable I actually feel being at her restaurant. She begins to explain pro-haps the servers got me mixed up with someone else but it took her to the end of the conversation to actually apologize. She offered me compensation but thatās not what I wanted I just wanted a simple sorry. It sucks because this has been one of my favorite places to go every Sunday but Iām not sure if I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChill as hell place to plant your butt and enjoy a game. Had a couple of ladies tell me to get the burger here, so I figured I'd put the money where my mouth is and get their namesake O'Connell burger... if the only complaint I have about a burger is the raw, too-thick onions....yeah it's a damn good burger.
If y'all read these, I'd suggest grilled onions (or a way thinner slice) on top your classic burger.
I also went with the half and half side, got 3 big onion rings with fries. They know their stuff! Seems like they get the membrane off the onion, so it's a clean bite, with crispy batter. Your usual fluffy-crispy, not quite steak fries....and the egg was perfect, mix of runny yolk with a creamy over-medium shell.
Drinks were ice cold, tasty food, Bartender Jordan and everyone else were friendly on both sides the counter....a perfect hole-in-the-wall that, if you don't know, now you do, and you're behind. Give this place some love. I know I wanna come back and see how the rest of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I have been meaning to go to O'Connell's for a while now. She's from Boston and was excited to hear about a Boston sports bar in HB. We finally went for a Celtics finals game. First off, our waitress, Sydney, was amazing. Very friendly, helpful, and attentive (especially given how busy it got). The food was very good. We got the appetizer platter and chicken wings. Everything came out quickly. We got a pitcher of beer, and they gave us an ice cooler rod to keep it cold. Good prices for both the food and drinks. The atmosphere was lively. There are TVs everywhere, so it's easy to watch whatever you want. Initially there was no TV audio, just music playing, but when the finals started they switched to the game audio. Seating is a little odd due to the layout, but we found a good spot and didn't have any issues. Overall a great experience, and grew t to find a local Boston sports bar. We'll...
