My recent dining experience at Ouzo & Feta, a delightful Greek restaurant, left me absolutely thrilled and satisfied. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in for something special. The owner's warm welcome and genuine hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Ouzo & Feta boasts a charming ambiance that effortlessly transports you to the sun-drenched shores of Greece. The tastefully decorated interior, reminiscent of a traditional Greek taverna, creates an inviting and cozy atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience.
The owner's passion for Greek cuisine shines through in every aspect of the restaurant. Their expertise and attention to detail are evident in both the menu and the impeccable service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to offer suggestions and answer any questions, further adding to the overall sense of warmth and care.
Now, let's talk about the food. Ouzo & Feta has mastered the art of capturing the authentic flavors of Greece. Each dish I tried was an explosion of taste and a testament to the culinary prowess of the chef. The menu is a carefully curated selection of Greek classics, showcasing the diversity and richness of the country's cuisine.
The mezes (appetizers) are a must-try at Ouzo & Feta. I started with their signature spanakopita, a flaky pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese. It was heavenly. The tangy and creamy feta perfectly complemented the earthy spinach, resulting in a harmonious blend of flavors. The saganaki, a fried cheese dish, was also exceptional, with its crispy exterior and gooey, melt-in-your-mouth center.
For the main course, I opted for the moussaka, a classic Greek dish that is notoriously difficult to perfect. Ouzo & Feta's rendition, however, was a revelation. The layers of tender eggplant, seasoned ground beef, and velvety béchamel sauce melded together flawlessly, creating a symphony of flavors that left me craving more.
To accompany my meal, I indulged in a glass of Ouzo, the restaurant's namesake drink. The anise-flavored spirit was served traditionally, with a splash of water and ice. Its unique flavor profile paired exquisitely with the cuisine, providing a refreshing and authentic Greek experience.
As a sweet ending to my culinary adventure, I tried the baklava. The flaky pastry, layered with honey and crushed nuts, was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. It was the perfect finale to an extraordinary dining experience.
Ouzo & Feta is a true gem that exemplifies Greek gastronomy at its finest. The combination of warm hospitality, a cozy atmosphere, and impeccable cuisine makes it a must-visit destination for any lover of Greek food. Whether you are a connoisseur or someone curious to explore the wonders of Greek cuisine, Ouzo & Feta will not disappoint. Prepare to be transported to the Mediterranean with each bite, and let your taste buds revel in the magic that is...
Read moreWe’ve been to Ouzo and Feta for several big family dinners and we’ve always enjoyed it. I know Greek food very well, having lived in a city with a large Greek population. Last night I came in solo to have a drink and a light meal at the bar; so I ordered my glass of Retsina and then told the bartender/waiter I would like to order some food. I ordered the spanakopita and an order of the Greek fries with feta. First of all, they brought the food to me in plastic to-go containers! I never asked for it that way, nor did I say it was a takeout order — did they assume that just because I was a woman alone? I’ve dined alone over the world, so for me, it is not a big deal! Can’t say a very heartfelt apology was offered either. It felt rather sad eating food out of plastic containers while sitting in a nice restaurant. I ate some of the fries, but really didn’t like the sauce — to me it tasted like some kind of ranch dressing or mayonnaise, probably adapted to an American palette, because I’m sure many people would like it, but I told the waiter that I didn’t like the fries at all although I tried to eat them, and that he could take them away. And I ordered a different food item. When the bill came, I was really surprised to see that the fries weren’t taken off or some sort of small discount given! So I paid the bill and also tipped very well, but I was very disappointed on...
