Excellent grilled food but California roll threw me off.
I decided to give this place a try and ordered the hibachi filet mignon ($14.45 + $0.75 for fried rice), California roll ($8.99), miso soup ($1.99), and a bottle of water ($1.79).
The hibachi filet mignon was served with grilled broccoli, celery, carrot, and zucchini. It was spectacular. The meat and vegetables were perfectly browned to the point of maximum flavor before burning. The fried rice that came with it was alright. It just had some bits of scrambled eggs. I was given the choice of fried rice or white rice and I believe the 75¢ charge was a surcharge to have fried instead of white.
The miso soup was as expected. It had some seaweed and tofu.
The California roll looked like it would have tasted great. There was generous avocado and the imitation crab salad looked good. There were pieces of what I thought was cucumber, but as soon as I tried the roll, I realized it was actually picked daikon radish. The sourness of the radish was an unexpected and unpleasant surprise.
I think you'll have an excellent time if you order one of their hibachi dishes. They seem to focus on takeout because the food is only served in takeout containers, even if you order for dine-in. If you eat at the restaurant, there's plenty of seating, a selection of sauces, and you can use...
Read moreOverall food is basic, nothing special about it really. Only place in the area that serves this style of food however I would rather drive out of my way to receive better QUALITY FOOD for same price range. Customer service is HORRIBLE if you like to be treated like a uneducated Neanderthal person THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. Owners has no respect for customers they feel superior and lack humility. Tables are dirty and they do not practice correct sanitation procedures. Will not be returning here and HIGHLY WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. Take your...
Read moreI stopped by Ying Hana Teppanyaki No. 1 today and was interested in possibly trying the food — it smelled great in the inside. I asked to use the restroom and was denied, which I understand is up to the business. However, the way I was looked at and dismissed felt very personal and disrespectful. The man working looked me up and down and shook his head without a word — it was the kind of interaction that made me feel judged, not just refused. Based on that treatment, I chose not to give them my business. A little respect...
