Food is great for the price. The only issue I have noticed is that the ambience doesnât match the type of customer. The customers tend to be older, 40+ and especially seniors, sort of down-to-earth folks and the music is loud rock music from a local radio station. I guarantee you that not one of these folks play this particular station in their cars or listen to it at home. Seeing this on more than one occasion, I wonder if the employees, who are young, turn it on to this station because itâs what they like. If the manager allows this, itâs a glaring mistake. These old people come there to experience a relaxing, family-style atmosphere where they can enjoy a good mealânot a club-like environment. One other thing. About the service. Overall, itâs decent, but could be improved upon. All the servers seem to be nice, but I had server trying to finish his shift (it was about 3:30-ish), and he was using a loud, mechanical push vacuum next to me. He had a large area and could have moved elsewhere or said sorry or communicated something, but he just ground away, over and over and over, right beside me (about 2 feet). Earlier, when I came with a plate of food, he was standing right in front of my seat. I have no problem going around, but I could not get to my seat without him moving. He was talking to another server. I stopped and waited. The other server said something and he glanced over suddenly, but then went back to talking! Then, itâs like it ovcurred to him and he suddenly moved. Itâs not that I believe he was intentionally being rudeâI believe he was completely oblivious, as was he when he vacuumed beside me. Case #3. Another trip, my server didnât show up for quite some time to bring my drink after I was seated. Once I saw who she was, I saw her go back to the server station in the back and go back to talking. She only came by twice more after that. Thatâs okay, but other times she went by singing along with the song on the radio snd was offkey. Back to the ambience thing. And she talked really lound about her job to another customer about a bad day she was having. Something about another customer, I think. âOh, honey, what comes around goes around. If they didnât want to leave a good tip, itâs on them. Iâm used to it.â Anyway, the food is great and the price is good, but the servers seem like theyâve had no training. That and the loud rock music destroys the ambience if youâre looking for a quiet, family atmosphere. Kaceyâs mgt seems oblivious to the customer and needs to address this. Such an easy fix!!! Otherwise,...
Read moreI recently visited Kaceyâs Home Cooking and found the experience to be average overall. The buffet is on the smaller side, and for whatâs offered, the price felt a bit high. That said, the food was served hot, which is always appreciated at a buffet-style restaurant.
Food Quality
The selection leans toward classic Southern comfort dishesâfried chicken, greens, and other staples. While the items were fresh and warm, most of the food was noticeably under-seasoned. The quality was acceptable but not particularly impressive, especially given the price point. Guests looking for bold flavors or a wide variety may be disappointed, while those wanting straightforward, traditional Southern items may find it more suitable.
Service
Service was the most underwhelming part of the visit. The restaurant wasnât busy, yet our drinks sat empty through most of our meal. We eventually had to flag someone down for a refill, which shouldnât happen in a lightly occupied dining room. The service wasnât rude, just inattentive and below expectations.
Atmosphere & Value
The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious, in line with a casual home-cooking buffet. However, the limited variety and lack of seasoning made the overall value feel weaker than comparable options in the area.
Final Thoughts
Kaceyâs Home Cooking wasnât a fit for me personally, and I donât plan to return, though I donât regret giving it a try. I have friends who enjoy this place, so itâs possible my experience was simply an off day. If youâre looking for a small, straightforward Southern buffet, you may find what youâre afterâjust donât expect much variety or...
Read moreSo my family and I were looking for some home style /southern food for a late lunch today (2-15-25), and we stumbled upon Kasey's buffet. As we were driving there, my wife was looking at all the reviews and said this place sounds good. When we pulled up, I was skeptical, but I said, "Let's try it anyway." For my wife myself and 4 kids under 8, it cost us $ 69 and some change. I was like, for what!? Once we got the food, it went straight downhill. My daughter didn't want to be rude, so she wrote me a note on her notepad she had and said "daddy I don't like the fish. It's nasty, " so I tried a piece, and it was so salty it wasn't edible. She wanted to get a biscuit, and I told her no cause they were overcooked. I could have thrown them at the glass, and it would have broken the glass. The chicken had no seasoning on it at all. The country fried steak probably had been sitting there since lunch started cause it was hard. The green beans tasted like they were dropped straight out of a can just to heat them up. The mash potatoes were bland. The only things that were somewhat enjoyable were steak tips and onions and french fries. Everything up on the bar was nasty or nasty looking. We can say that it has been marked off the places to eat at ever again. Like I said, we paid that much money to eat some fruit, fries, pudding, cake, and a little ice cream. I highly recommend staying away from here unless you like overcooked food with no...
