Edit: just saw the guy who said we were lying about what happened. Kinda crazy to say that we lied about not liking the food, as you are just sitting there DRINKING at the bar. No food in sight, I wonder why. Everyone took one bite of their food because it was gross besides me, considering I asked for a cheese quesadilla after and ate it because how can you mess up a cheese quesadilla? We didn’t try to get that taken off of the bill because I actually ate it. Most of us understood that they weren’t going to take the food off of the bill and that wasn’t the problem. The problem was how rude the staff was. As for my friend’s card declining, my family told them that we were going to pay for it instead and the cook screamed that his card declined over and over and then called the police.
This was our first time going here and the waitresses were extremely rude and the food was not good at all. When my group first arrived, we were greeted by the owner and he was extremely nice. We went in, ordered our food from the first waitress we had and everything was going fine. We got our food and the salads were really hot for some reason, the chicken on my quesadilla was rubbery, and my friend’s philly cheesesteak was burnt and dry. Everyone kinda just sucked it up and ate their food, but I politely asked for just a cheese quesadilla from the second waitress we had instead because I couldn’t handle the rubbery texture, not once did I say that to them though. She was being nice to me at first so I thought it was all good. When we were all done my friend went to go pay for his food and his card declined for some reason and our waitresses started screaming at him and said she was going to call the sheriff on him. He never once said he wasn’t going to pay, we were about to pay for him but they just jumped to conclusions. A guy sitting at the bar even started yelling and swearing at him. He’s a minor. They just kept screaming at us and being rude. Lastly, they said that we were being rude first when all I was doing was being polite. The only people that go there probably just go to the bar and don’t...
Read moreThis place felt as if you were visiting a family members house, like walking into grandpa’s basement to grab a quick meal. It was extremely cozy, the atmosphere was great, the lighting was soft, and the booths were very nice. They also have outdoor seating, which a live band was playing, love to see it.
The food felt like a classic meal grandpa would whip up in the kitchen. Simple ingredients that get straight to the point. I ordered a walleye sandwich with a side of onion rings. The sandwich itself comes plain, and you ask to add your own toppings depending on your liking. The sandwich is a decent size, and you get a good amount of onion rings. It would be nice to have the fish seasoned more, I think it would enhance the sandwich. I was extremely happy with the price of the Diet Coke. $3 for one glass and you get one free refill, great deal I would say!
The server was very friendly and attentive. She was managing the bar, and refilled our drinks at our table without us having to flag her down. Exactly the type of person you want to be serving you.
The bathrooms could use some love. The stalls are shallow. You have just enough room to stand up and that’s about it. I’m an average size lady and I found the squeeze too close for comfort, almost claustrophobic inducing. If the stalls are given a bit more attention and more room, everything would have been perfect! Otherwise, highly recommend...
Read moreWe went to Kokomo’s and were initially having a fine time—until our food took an hour and a half to arrive. When it finally came, the quality was poor, with one $13 item containing barely any chicken. On the way to the bathroom, we noticed the kitchen was filthy. Angways.. we politely asked to speak with the manager about possible compensation for the long wait and disappointing food, we were immediately met with hostility. She raised her voice, accused us of trying to avoid paying (which was never our intention), and acted in an extremely unprofessional manner—yelling, threatening, and even cornering us at our table. When it came time to pay, she mixed up the checks, charging card payments more and cash payments less, which made us suspect she pocketed the cash. This dragged out the payment process for another 30 minutes, during which she continued yelling at us in front of multiple witnesses.
The only positive part of the experience was our server, who was kind and professional throughout. Unfortunately, the manager’s behavior overshadowed everything. To the owners: this kind of conduct will drive customers away. For the sake of your business, I strongly urge you to address this employee’s actions...
