Giovanni's Pizza — Restaurant in Hurricane

I'm moving from VA to KY and I pulled off the interstate to grab something to eat. I ordered a ham and cheese sub and a Philly cheese sub. They were super sweet and brought it out to me since I broke my foot and struggled getting in and out of the moving truck. Everything was great until I got my food. Y'all charge almost $9 for this. The ham sub was no better. I started reading your reviews and this isn't the first complaint you've had on this issue or this particular sandwich. So either the pep talk didn't stick with your employees or this is the product you're serving and you say whatever you want to the customer but don't change anything. The sandwiches had a good flavor, but DEFINITELY NOT worth $16. One piece of thinly sliced ham folded in half to make it look like you get 2 pieces wasn't fooling anyone. I managed a chain pizza restaurant for years and I know exactly how food costs work. If I pass through this town again, I won't be ordering from your establishment. The taste of the food was great. The service was great. The value for the money spent doesn't justify being a repeat customer. Everything hinges on reviews nowadays. Terrible service. Went in at 7:10 to order dine in. Was told they were locking the door in 30 minutes. I said we would be done by then. When our food was brought out it was in to go boxes. I had to ask for my 2 liter and cups. Then I ask if we could get some plates. The guy brought paper plates and said he would have brought real ones but they were all being washed. The food wasn’t very good either. The fact that they kept walking around us made us uncomfortable. They were watching to see how long we were going to be. We finally got our stuff together. My daughter ask for a to go cup for the little one and was told they didn’t have any. We have ate at this restaurant many times. Worst visit ever. The place has run down hill. If everyone is treated as we were the doors will be closed soon. If they don’t want anyone eating there after a certain time there should be a sign on the door. They didn’t close till 8. We left at 7:45. And I’m certain my food wasn’t made with love but with hate because we didn’t leave. 28.00 worth of food. I feel wasted. I work for my money just like everyone there. I would not recommend this restaurant or the food they serve. The quality of the ingredients is very bad. The Stromboli I ordered had listed steak as as the main ingredient, and priced that way as well. No steak in Stromboli when I tried to eat it. It did however find a pre-formed meat puck that was inedible. Clearly a microwavable, low-cost, steak-like substitute that I guess they call "steak" but is not.

The pizza as well was atrocious. It was made incorrectly with no regard to the instructions I gave when ordering. The crust was flimsy, thin and cheap tasting. Again, it would not surprise me if the dough pre-cooked offsite and the staff just reconstitutes it. Nothing fresh, or cooked per order, only reheated and sent out the door.
