Okay..... EAT HERE. This was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had at a restaurant. Definitely in the running for best restaurant in southern Utah. My wife and I got an appetizer of mushroom fries, which were not what I expected, as they far exceeded anything I could have imagined. They were absolutely delicious. My wife got perfectly cooked salmon on pearled couscous with various grilled veggies and a beautiful sauce, and it was all stunningly flavored. I was very impressed. However, my own food was to die for. I had a penne with their own creamy Bolognese sauce (I believe), with the most fantastic Italian sausage. The whole dish was perfectly crafted and I was sad I didn't have more stomach space. After dinner, we got two desserts. One was a crème brûlé, which most restaurants fudge up (pun intended), but not this one. This one was smooth as can be, just right in its flavor, and the sugar crust on top was perfect, just the right thickness, darkness, bitter-sweetness. It was a perfect crème brûlé. Just when I thought desert couldn't get better, I tried my wife's bread pudding. Oh my goodness. I've always liked bread pudding, but I've never had one like this. It was warm and moist and perfectly buttery throughout, and it was sitting in the most fantastic cream and caramel sauces. The staff, the building, and decor were gorgeous. However, it was maybe slightly too minimalistic in terms of decor. The owner could really do well to through some reclaimed wood or bearskins on the walls. Other than this small detail, it was essentially a perfect...
Read moreI hate leaving this review but it’s necessary. We are locals, and frequent this restaurant quite often! Typically, the service is amazing! We bring our out of town guests here ALL the time. Side note: We love Shelby, he is usually our waiter. But this time we did not have him as our waiter. I wish I got the name of our waitress, female, tall, short black hair. My friend and I were having a girls day, just came from the movies and decided to have dinner at our local fave!! I am a creature of habit and always always always get the big pig chili burger. this time I got it without the bun (keto) and 90% of the time I substitute the fries for a side salad. I was told that there is an up charge. Never have I ever had to pay an up charge to substitute my french fries for a small side salad. That’s not the whole problem, OK so there’s an up charge (again, never been charged) but the way this waitress directed that to me was unacceptable. Again I hate to be that person, and I never ever leave reviews, but this review had to be done. Her Attitude and in my face demeanor took away from my dining experience that I normally have. She seemed so proud of herself of making sure that I knew there are no substitutions or pay the up charge. I literally had a patty with some chili, a slice of cheese and mustard for $20. I’m sure the french fries cost more than the salad and again it was just the way that she presented herself. I’m so very disappointed. I’ll be back of course, But will always request not to have her be...
Read moreEnjoyed a great meal at ‘Pig’s Ear American Bistro.’ Our arrival in Hurricane, UT was somewhat late for dinner, and we were unfamiliar with the town. Thanks to Google reviews, we selected ‘Pig’s Ear American Bistro,’ based on reviews and a full parking lot. We were told the wait time was 20 to 25 minutes. As we waited for a table, we watched the busy kitchen staff preparing meal after meal, each efficiently prepared with attention to presentation detail. The wait staff moved about the guests attentively, yet with purpose and efficiency. We knew this was the right place for a good meal.
My bacon cheeseburger was great. It was prepared with top-quality meat, generous amounts of bacon (oh, yeah!), and a healthy-sized bun. Ordered it ‘medium well,’ and that was exactly how it was prepared! Yep, had fries with this, and they were just right.
My spouse ordered a Chili-cheeseburger, ‘medium well,’ and that is exactly how it was prepared. She also ordered a side of ‘Mac and cheese.’ It was very, very good, with lots of cheese sauce.
Our waitress Terra was attentive and helpful throughout our meal.
So often, it can be difficult to have meat prepared as ordered, but not at ‘Pig’s Ear.’ Their kitchen staff ‘know their stuff.’ In addition, it was obvious to us they use top quality ingredients.
We walked in unsure of what to expect and left as two ‘very happy campers.’ No question we will return to ‘Pig’s Ear...
