Harold's Chicken #24 — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

This place is a joke! And if I was to continue to support them I would be a clown. Any place that you walk into with a million signs posted is a circus. I hadn't been in here in awhile because they don't have mild sauce, but bbq sauce...part of Harold's signature is the sauce. I found myself here because I was by the location. Paid $15+ for 7 wings, with cash. 4% service fee with card. I had salt and pepper so the .28 cents for lemon pepper I avoided, but is still outrageous. They CLAIM it's due to COVID but that's a whole lie because you can go on 87th or on Vincennes and get 7 wings for $10. My food was salty so I had to use the BBQ sauce. Highway robbery. Just sad and pathetic. I will never go in here again. They just need to close if their business model is to rob the community. When I say never I mean never ever will I go to this Harold’s. I’m assuming they got mad because I place an online order fish 18 and wings 13 I chose the option for mild sauce on my wings and paid for extra. When I went to pick my order up I over heard the cashier taking an over the phone order and the customer was saying she didn’t want the bbq sauce she wanted mild, the cashier went to explain that they do not carry the “original” Harold’s mild sauce and they only have the Harold’s bbq sauce. While I never tasted the bbq sauce my son has and he doesn’t like it on his chicken, I say that because when picked my order up and heard the conversation, I explained I didn’t want it on my chicken. So at the bottom of my fish this is the bread I have. When I say they had to dip this bread in grease and lay it in the tray that’s exactly what they did. I don’t care what changes a customer wants to make to their order this type of behavior is never okay. This is crazy that I paid $35 for this, as a black business it’s trashy...

On April 26, 2021, at 7:50pm I called to place an order. The line was busy. After four more attempts finally someone answered at 8:20pm. I placed my order and was told 20 minutes for the order. I arrived at the store 25 minutes later. The lady taking orders was too busy talking to the cook about some woman who 12 year old buy and smoke weed with her (the woman), to give the orders. She during this time the phone was ringing, she didn't pause the conversation to answer. She finally passed two customers their orders. I informed her of my call in order, she gave me the total then said 20 minutes. I told her I was told 20 minutes for the order when I called. This lady said "once you pay I got two more orders ahead of you, so 20 minutes." Then went on to say "you want it or not?." I said not and left the store. This is not the first time I have experienced this type of attitude and poor service at this store. I normally avoid going to the Harold's on 75th off King Drive, but it was close to my destination.
