Marlon's Chicken — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

Usually I don’t write reviews but after my experience today with Marlons Chicken I had to. After being a customer for years and this being the only establishment we get our fried chicken from it was a complete shock to receive our order which was completely inedible. The chicken was over seasoned and tasted like pure salt!!! Don’t get me wrong fried chicken is supposed to have a certain level of salt but the salt level on this chicken was unbearable. Usually I wouldn’t even say anything and pass it off as 1 bad experience with the establishment, but after calling to see if a refund can be given is when the cook Lamont was totally dismissive/rude. The lady who answered the phone was nice/sweet and was very apologetic and said she would check with the cook Lamont. She asked and you could hear him say you know it ain’t no refunds and why would you ask me something like that. If they chicken is salty it’s because they asked for lemon pepper. I explained even after taking the skin off the meat itself was just too salty and 6 people that tasted agreed. My visit at Marlon's resturant was delightful. The view is not the best, but I did have a great view of the kitchen where you can see the cook working in a clean environment. That means allot when you buying food in the hood. The customer service was very pleasant, I was greeted an asked if I needed help by everyone that work there. The menu offers mouth watering chicken, fish, and shrimp, no dessert, but up the street is a bakery. All the orders are made fresh which gives you the warmth of home-made food. The owner takes great pride in his food. I order six wings, no sauce was needed in my opinion. Maybe on the fries. One bite I was in love, you can definitely taste the difference between fresh, crispy, then some yesterday s*. Most will be upset cause once you order and come in the food is not ready. But if you want perfection and hot food you will be patience because its worth it. I had the pleasure to experience chicken made with exquisite flavours. I am a repeated customer and when I say the chicken is amazing it’s really delicious and I definitely refer others but I was a little disturbed I went in today and ordered 100pcs of mixed chicken which was 2-full pans and the gentleman gave me 1-small cup of hot sauce and 1-small cup of mild sauce after noticing the amount of sauce he gave before driving off. I went back in and ask if I was able to get another container of each to at least to accommodate the amount of chicken I just purchased and he had the nerve to tell me it would be $3each and I asked him…so you saying that with all this chicken I’m only able to get I small container each and his reply was you can get more but it going to be $3 per container.
