I can see the charm and appeal this little place might have for locals or tourists, it is a cute little diner, but the service here is SO BAD I just can not bring myself to ever go in there again. I work nearby this place so I used to go in a few times a month, but I quit going there because the service was so bad. I moved to the Ammon office a few years back so I was not on this side of town a lot, so I just never even thought about this place for years. Now I am back managing the office on this side of town so I tried going in here again. The food was pretty good, but definitely over-priced compared to similar offerings at other places in town. The service was, well ... kinda non-existent. I knew exactly what I wanted to order before I even arrived, but then I stood at the door for over 10 minutes waiting to be seated, then the waitress disappeared for 20 minutes before she came to take my order. I knew what I wanted when I walked in the door, but it took a HALF HOUR to get that information to them!?!?!? Then it took way longer than it should have to prepare what I ordered (they where NOT busy, there was only about 6 other people in the restaurant), but the food did arrive hot and was actually pretty good tasting food. It would have been even BETTER if I had not run out of water about half-way though the meal, and maybe an opportunity to order a piece of pie might have been nice, but I guess I showed up the NO WATER REFILLS and NO PIE day? I also got NO CHECK, so I had to walk up to the register and wait another 10 minutes for somebody to come take my money. I got back to the office 20 minutes later than I had told everybody, so now I look bad in front of my employees, and i was in an angry mood the rest of the day because of how badly I was ignored that morning just trying to get some food. This reminded me of exactly why I quit going to this place a decade earlier. 10 years later and NOTHING has changed. But I actually HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you DO stop in for a meal. The food is actually good, and it's only a few dollars more than it should be, so go ahead and try it just so you can SEE WITH YOUR OWN EYES the bad service I am talking about. You'll "eventually" get some good food, but once you leave you will walk away with a much greater appreciation for the other restaurants in Idaho Falls that don't ignore...
Read moreOkay, this place is 35+ years old and their clientele reflects that...as in I think they have had the same clients so long their clients tastebuds are dead and their vision is poor.
The place is filthy and outdated. Uncomfortable seating, nasty carpet that's shredding and feels like a mobile home inside. Table condiments are dirty and sticky. The place needs a professional cleaning, just for starters. The carpet is flooded with stains and food and they mask it with air fresheners you will smell instantly!
The service was slow...as in 32 minutes to get our food and they were not busy.
We ordered their "special" rare beef with Aujus. The beef was more like warmed deli meat and flavorless. It had that metallic color reflection. There was nothing else on the sandwich. The bread was toasted and nothing special. The Aujus was watery and bland, pretty sure it was from a plastic jug. The fries were crispy but bland and the grease settled on the plate in the bread. The potato salad was almost soup and nothing great at all. It was typical , flooded with mayo, relish and nothing great. It also came with a side salad that was not good either. The lettuce was brown!! There was one beet slice and one pickle slice. There was some bagged type shredded cabbage and carrot also on the salad.
The sandwiches were near 9 dollars and worthless. Dont bother going here. We always wanted to try it but the food is nasty and the room is loud with waitresses gossiping and complaining and the sound of oxygen equipment.
And, when you pay with a card, you get charged fifty cents , but they don't tell you before hand. As a business owner, this is a...
Read moreHave been eating here for 25 plus years. The waitresses have always been friendly and my husband loves the chicken noodle soup. Today I noticed the usual waitresses busting butt, taking orders, clearing tables, and cashiering. I noticed a younger gal (after a waitress had already helped a customer) come up and stand there, even after the waitress left to do all the above. She continued to lean on the counter yawning! While we ate our lunch I noticed she had rung up maybe 3 (out of about 12 + paying customers. Ppl would come in and tables needed clearing but she would just stand there. At one point a waitress was cashiering so she told the gal one of the tables needed drinks and told her what kind and asked her to get the drinks, she started to step through the counter then stopped and just stood there until the waitress was done with the paying customer. She never did go get the drinks. I asked my husband if she was the owner or something because she acted like wiping tables or anything other than standing there was beneath her. ( she was only once, actually at the counter for a customer, all the other times the waitresses were ringing up the customers and she would come from the back and stand there, then take over with the next person in line) The table behind me had over heard me talking to my husband and when they left they said that they noticed the same thing and that there were others that had noticed and made...
