Tourist trap! Visit 29 June 2014 at 2:41PM. Server: "Koti" She was awful! Here's why: 1. Ordered soup. Told "out of soup", then other table sitted after us got the soup! 2. ordered two coffees, then asked for re-fill THREE TIMES, and never did Koti retiurn with the coffee carafe that set by the water pitchers. 3. Menu says "1/2 pound burger", must be weighed before shrinkage of very fatty low grade beef. Substitue fries for potato chips, cost an extra $2.00. 4. Koti brings burgers, no condiments, didn't check to see if we liked the meals. 5. Order of grilled cheese was horrible. 6. Koti brings check before asking about desert, we ordered one each peanutbutter choc pie to split for the kids, Koti drops off small piece and no forks. Pie to next table, different waiter was twice the size. So for a $59.68 two coffee, two burgers one with fries, grilled cheese and garden salad $59.68. My tip rounded the cost to $62, and I normally go 20%, and I wrote that on the check with frowny face, explaining why Koti...
Read moreWe have eaten at Chimney Rock several times this month. The burger was great! The bun was just like a good bun should be. The meat itself had really good flavor and was cooked to perfection. I have also ordered the pasta stuffed with (beef and pork "I believe") with mushroom sauce. I really enjoyed it. I have had it three times. Only thing I would say negative about it was the sauce wasn't moist enough for me. Still well worth having, obviously, since I have had it three times and am having it again tonight! Our friends and family ordered steaks and they were very happy with their choices. Overall, I think Chimney Rock has made really good changes! Glad! I forgot to add that our granddaughter ordered the chicken strips. She didn't finish one and I had it for lunch the next day. Moist and tender and flavorful. Very good! Service...
Read moreThis restaurant is in a beautiful location, and the servers are sweet, but the food was not great. They are super heavy handed on salt and pepper and have almost no fresh produce. I had the baked gnocchi one night which were cheesily good, but they were too salty and came with no fresh greens or veggies to cut through the richness. The breakfast the next day was just as salty and nothing seemed fresh. My spouse and daughter ordered different dishes, but the consensus was the same - too salty and not fresh. I'm imagining a good deal of frozen and microwaved food happening in the kitchen. Overall I would not recommend...
