We came here randomly on Saturday after a hike at Simplot. My husband’s a huge pizza guy so he wanted to try it. We got the 12” for $26 and breadsticks for $7. The atmosphere there was so awesome. Everyone’s chilling, everyone having fun. It’s pretty laid back. Nice decor. Place was clean. Onto the good stuff. The pizza took about 15 minutes to make which is fair. And normal. The pizza was good, fair amount of freeze for a pizza so not too shabby. It was so big that our three kiddos couldn’t even eat one slice, which made me laugh. All in all the pizza was perfect. The breadsticks however? I’m a huge foodie and a cook myself and these breadsticks lacked everything except there softness. They basically covered the top in olive oil and put some very bland seasoning on. It tasted like nothing. You could not taste the flavor on top at all. Just a heavy amount of olive oil. The breadsticks WERE however soft. So soft they didn’t need marinara to help them because they were dried out, which they weren’t. The marinara? Also not a fan. It was completely flavorless as well. I only gave this place 3 stars because of that. Based off my personal experience with their food they could be better. It’s hard for allot of places to not dry out breadsticks so this place did great with there’s except the flavor, but I think they need to reinvent there breadsticks. Based off of how long they were and the fact there were 5 yes $7 seems appropriate but that’s because there’s nothing special to them. Again, the pizza was great, just not the breadsticks. Lastly, the pizza isn’t special in regards to other places like Pie Hole. It’s just the same style of pizza at another place under a different name. If you’re looking for a cheaper option this is not it. And I think you could get the same style of pizza cheaper...
Read moreSO bummed to write this review! I LOVE LuLu’s pizza, it’s my husband and I’s all time favorite. Unfortunately in the last 6 months or so, we never get it. They’ve basically lost our previous weekly/2 times weekly business and recommendations. They are impossible to contact, we’ve called 5 times now on different days at different times to place an order and the line just beeped like it was dead. Not a voice message, didn’t even ring. Just dead. We tried to order online where it said “unavailable” on a Friday night at 7pm? Finally it worked at 8 pm but only half the menu that’s listed on their website was listed on the online ordering menu. This literally makes it impossible for us to order and get a pizza. Once we finally said fine, we will drive there and place our order and wait for it (we live 45 mins away, so that shows how much we love and support this business, and we drove almost an hour to LuLus we found it was closed. Nobody there.. no different hours posted on the door. Google hours said they were open. Their facebook page hasn’t been updated since 2013… I’m not sure how they expect to get business when they make it impossible for anyone to place an order or come get pizza. Such a bummer. Help your customers out! We lover you and want to support you! Help...
Read moreDid you Google "New York style pizza in Boise" or "thin slice pizza Boise"? After our not-so-exhaustive pizza food crawl of Boise we can say, without hesitation, that Lulu's has the best "New York style" in Boise. But that's not saying much. On a scale of 1 to 10, Lulu's cheese slice is a 4. Wait, wait...
Every other place in Boise is a 1 or 2. Most slices in town taste like cardboard. No sour, no sweet, no vinegar. At least Lulu's has a hint of "sour" on the crust. Maybe it was residual powdered cheese or salt. Whatever it was, we were not disappointed with each bite. Heads-up: no basil.
Lulu's has great parking, everyone is friendly, the line is batshiyatcrazy long sometimes, and the aforementioned NY Style cheese slice is $3.25 pre-tax as of this worthless Google review.
Bonus: you don't have to deal with the horrific attitude and service at the downtown Guido's (maybe the worst customer service in town, at the very least...
