East End Pizza and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Illinois

My second time in Chicago area and my wife's first. You know how it is, when you go to a new place. You have to try the "local foods". When it comes to Chicago, I have always been told pizza and hotdogs. So when I asked a local they said East End. I am rather glad I did! The lady on the phone took my order and went over the Chicago way. The pizza was a perfect thin crust! Crispy yet not breaking teeth! The sauce robust and full of flavor. We almost didn't want to eat it because it was absolutely beautiful!!! You can see the Pic for yourself ;) Now the dog. My my my. That heat was beautiful but a slight surprised! I almost instantly got the hiccups lol. Easily the best hotdog I have ever eaten. All beef. The relish. The peppers and pickle. Jeesh even the mustard... I dont really know...celery salt? Wow! Amazing. Ok the food is always what people want to know so if you have read everything this far you know. A true foodie is about the food and the service. The whole experience. I spoke with two people here. The young lady on the phone. 10 out of 10. Super nice. Helpful. Just a wonderful person during our brief conversation. The gentleman that brought my pizza out. 10 out of 10. He wanted to see my reaction when I opened the pizza. I think he was just as excited as I was! Super patient while I fumbled through fighting the drool and closing the pizza box lol. He was smiling the whole time (probably laughing at this out of towner that cant figure it out)!! 😂 wow what a pleasant visit. I felt welcome. I felt like I was home, even though home is almost 1000 miles away. Bravo....

Can not review the food as i never got my order ,according to door dash driver that had a body cam for proof the lady working refused the driver my order because the driver didnt have a bag to put my order in it. Nice way to do business east end. I will never order again from them . I feel bad for the driver because the driver had multiple orders and that was the reason for not having another bag. The lady should not have said what she said. Door dash drivers are trying to make money she prevented it. However i did give the driver a paper tip and for showing me the video.

I have worked w door dash myself however the warming bags are recommended not required , but if we were to run out how is it the customers fault. Your employee( she) was rude on rhe video i seen and denied my order to get delivered. Honestly not my issue.anymore ,my family will.never eat there !!!! Glad door dash refunded all my money. Owner or not i will not contact you or staff !! Good luck in wonder lake people here wont...

The 2 wonderful ladies I met while I was in there won me over already. The pizza is fantastic. I have never been a fan of Paulie’s Pizza. But once I seen the new name I had to try it. Absolutely go for the hearty sauce everytime. They have a phenomenal sauce. The margherita pizza is always very crispy and just to my liking. All the other pizzas I’ve had have been fantastic and crispy every single time. Cannot wait to try all of the amazing meals they have to offer. I’ve only just started!

Update: lowering my review to 2 stars. The food is still good at this establishment. But after 2 times ordering pizza. They will tell you 45 minutes. It’s closer to an hour and a half most times. I’ve ordered delivery and pickup and received the same result. Sent my dad in to pick up pizza at the 45 minutes mark. And he waited inside for around another 30 minutes until he was out the door. Food is good which is why il retain 2 stars. But the service...
