I have eaten here twice before. Thou is was one of the salads. Today my girlfriend and I meet for lunch. It was pretty dead there. I ordered chicken n ribs . I ordered sweetpotato frues n I wanted mashed potatos w gravy too. Waitress had to mention extra charge for extra side. Told her I dont care. Food came , the chicken looked breaded and fried. And dark meat which i dont eat. She stated it was Broasted , well Broasted is fried (pressure fried to be exacted) so it cooks faster. Well I told her I dont eat dark meat n it looked over cooked. So once again i was told its 5$ more for white meat. I dont care..geez. so a while later i get a plate of Fried yuk chicken breast. Seriously this chicken come frozen pre breaded..its junk. Then tossed in a pressure fryer. Discussing...the sweet potatoe fries were good the ribs small portion but good. I under some people in a low end establishment like this care about being charge a few extra bucks here n there. And I am not thrill for paying $63. For crappy chicken that will go to the dogs. I grew up on this road. Went to.the old Snug harbor as a child. Then ate there when it was a supper club. Not it a dang sport bars. Oh dont want to firget to mention the crying 2 yr old at the BAR in a highchair. Parents that shouldnt be at a BAR w a baby. I seem to remember its against the law for any minor to be seared at the BAR. Of course the poor chikd was bored and needed a nap. But the parents seems more concerned will sittimg at the dang BAR w friends then parenting. Both my friend and I agreed.not a place worth going to ago. Hence was it was dead on a Saturday afternoon. For $63 we could have gonna to a much nicer higher end restaurant . Where there is no waitress interrupting with oh thats a...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences ever. Starting with our seating and drink orders. Hostess/wait staff asked for our drink orders but because nothing is listed on the menu and it was clear we were looking for something, just stood there. When finally asked, she told us: Oh you mean Pop? Then rattled everything off. This i might add wasn't until her second trip to our table. I ordered their famous Homemade mom's home style recipe Pot Roast. When it arrived it was saturated in crispy onions (not in menu description, otherwise would of asked for None). The carrots were crunchy, the pot roast tough and chewy. Server did not come back over to check on us for a solid 15-20 minutes. Place was not Busy. When asked if I wanted a box I said, No I won't eat that. So ignored me and proceeded to ask my dinner mate if she wanted a box. Normally I don't complain, but the blatant disregard for my experience irked me. I then reiterated that it was nearly inedible. I was then told, oh okay, well I can see if my manager will comp your entree. No apologies, no manager visit to our table, no offer of a new meal, no anything as far as making sure I was as satisfied as possible as a customer that they want to return. Most of the time the "Hostess" and serve staff were off giggling and on their phones. All of this really makes me sad. I'm new to this area and had the opportunity a few months ago to try Moretti's and it was Fabulous. I also ordered from the Fox Lake location. The food was to die for!! Authentic Italian!! After my latest visit I don't think I will be back. In these days we are living in, one would think you would want to step up your game a little to keep customers coming back. I guess Moretti's doesn't need...
Read moreSnuggery McHenry-Sunday, 9/16/2012: Good Food; AWFUL service, Jennifer; AWFUL Manager, Mark. We went to the Snuggery for lunch on Sunday which we do about twice a month. This time we had seven people which we have done in the past. Our waitress, Jennifer, a very sweet girl with no business waiting on tables, never asked us if we wanted another drink, Brian had to go and find her to request a second drink.
We were there for 2 ½ hours just trying to have lunch. Finally after waiting an hour we still did not have any food. Roger talked to the manager, Mark, to see why we still didn’t have our food and why we couldn’t find our waitress to get another drink. Mark got Jennifer to come over and get us drink, and then he went to check on the food. Mark came out from the kitchen and said your food ticket went in the kitchen 43 minutes ago and there are still 3 tickets in front of it and it should be out shortly. What manager would think 43 minutes is acceptable. 15 minutes later six of our seven meals came out. We were almost done eating and Jennifer finally asked if the food was okay. We said we are still missing a meal. Scott was missing his meal, said to Mark, the manager, this is bull…. (This was not right) I still don’t have food and the Mark, the manager, said don’t swear at me. Jennifer brought out a meal, the wrong meal, but he ate it.
Mark did not apologize or comp anything and Jennifer did not apologize for the bad service. This is not the way to treat customers. An apology would have gone a long way.
We really love the food and usually we love the service. This was an awful experience and I am so sad we were treated so badly. Now, we will have to find another restaurant for our...
