Brook's & Terry's Espresso — Restaurant in Independence

I love supporting a local business, and I have loved brooks and terrys since I was a teen! however lately the last several times I’ve gone my bagel is ALWAYS burnt. I let it go those times because i understand mistakes happen. I stoped by today and from the beginning I had a feeling this was not going to be pleasant. I was hardly greeted, and when I ordered I asked the girl working said her name was “Paige” if she could make sure the bagel didn’t burn, all she said was “the bagels are frozen” so I’m guessing she meant they easily burn? I should have checked the bagel before I drove away because sure enough it was burnt again. I go back to let her know, and she responded very passively aggressive that the bagel was not burnt, instead of apologizing she literally argued with me about the bagel not being burnt. I gave it to her so she could see herself, and she scraped it off cream cheese with her bare hands and again said it was only partly burnt, she seemed very annoyed, mean and she lacks customer service. She offered to make another one, however after that kind of attitude I chose to just get a refund. I hate to post negative reviews and I would have much rather talked to the owner, but I didn’t see a phone number to call and that is why I am posting here. I don’t plan to buy anymore bagels and I sadly won’t be back for a while, that’s if I ever go back. I hope the owner sees this, their employees are very rude and definitely need to...

Sweet mother of all things caffeinated. How could you do this to me? How is it possible that I could love a drink SO much I would be willing to drive 45 minutes, 1 way, just to taste that peanut butter heaven?
