Cafe 17 — Restaurant in Independence

**Update: Ask and you shall receive. While my coworkers were looking at another restaurant for lunch today, I thought "let me just look..." Low and Behold, they had the Mac Daddy today. I was so excited, I kicked my feet a little (Im short, my feet don't reach the floor in my office chair 😅) THANK YOU Tony!!!!! You did not disappoint, it is delicious as usual. I wish I could give you a whole additional 5 star review, but Google won't let me 🙄

Me and my co-workers looked forward to Wednesdays because we all ordered the Mac Daddy Special. I called yesterday to place our weekly order and was informed that they were no longer going to have the Mac Daddy Special (like, at all) 😭 (this was me yesterday). My heart (and my stomach) were genuinely hurt. I understand that you probably have a ton of top buns (because of the extra bottom bun that went in between the 2 perfect beef patties). I'm thinking that's why you took it off the Special. But, hear me out...bring it back, and then on Thursday you can make some kind of open-faced sandwich with all the extra top buns as the Special. Please help because now the office wants to eat Big Boy every Wednesday because they have some kind of version of the Mac (Im personally not a fan), and, Im the designated food picker upper, and I just don't want to! I love your food (your fresh cut fries are my favorite), but please consider bringing the Mac Daddy back 🥹 P.s., I will still order from you, but I will have to boycott Wednesdays on principle (I hope you understand) Was it the side of mayo we always ordered? Another ‘hidden gem’. We found you because we needed to pick up a tool from Grainger and I was getting hungry. It’s Election Day and had to drive back to our suburb to vote. But still wanted to try your place and what a fantastic place you are! My husband and I called in an order on our way back there and it was timed perfectly. For anyone who thinks they found the perfect fry place- if it’s not cafe 17- you are wrong. Absolute perfection. I had chicken tenders that were juicy inside and wonderfully crisp outside, hot and delicious even with our drive to picnic in the park. My husband had the burger with the barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese and didn’t speak until he devoured it! He also had fries and agreed they are fantastic! No saving any for our puppy back home-they were gone. Only thing is the prices on the online reviews must not be accurate and we apologize the tip was WAY too low for the excellence we received! Never would have ever found you as we’re not really Facebook people and we work a little too far away to stop in during the week unless we’re on vacation-but we definitely have the spot to go when we are! I've been a customer for over a year faithfully. I placed an order and specifically told the lady what I wanted but once I got down there I had something added that I never requested. I tried to explain that I never ordered it but instead of acknowledging the fact that the cashier messed up I was told I am constantly making them lose money and argued with me. I gave the owner the salad back and told him to keep the money and the salad. Very poor customer service and I am hurt by the way I...
