Figaro's Pizza — Restaurant in Independence

I have been coming to this place since I started working in Monmouth in September of 2022 because I have one in my town so I was exited to see it here. So when I started going there I would get their lunch special that was a personal size pizza and a 20 oz drink for 7.99 . Which I thought was a good deal for a lunch special and I made sure to ask if there were time frame the lunch special was available for and I was told nope it's all day. I was surprised when I was told that so I said so I can come around 6pm and get that special if I wanted? And I was told yeap and I was like wow that's good to know. So I kept coming back for that reason so today after not being in for a while I was not happy with the service I got today. I came in around 3:35 pm and asked for the lunch special and was told 6.99 which I thought was odd but paid it and was told it would be ready in 10-15 min. So I left and came back and grabbed my pizza and my drink the guy who rang me up was like those aren't free you have to pay for them. Which I thought I did because of me asking for the special. Then he said the special doesn't go all day which how would I have known that but I was like since when which I did ask him that too . He couldn't give me an answer he said he has never done a lunch special past a pacific time . But I guess what bothered me the most was his demeanor he just kept looking at me like well I don't know what to tell you or I don't know what you're talking about when it's his company he works for and like I told him where would I get this from I didn't just you know pull it out of the air it's the information I was given and I asked if it has changed and he couldn't tell me yes or no but to me I felt like even when I said for the lunch special he should have said oh unfortunately we don't do the lunch special past this time or that doesn't we're not doing that special anymore something but not to say anything like I'm supposed to automatically know was just kind of disappointing to me so with that being said it was just the way he treated me through the store I wasn't happy and it kind of bothered me the rest of the night I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy but to me when someone asked for a Pacific answer so that way there's no confusion next time I feel like an answer should be given and to go from normally paying $7.99 for a combo that I've always paid for to go into pay almost $10 for a combo now which wasn't a combo it was $6.99 for a personal Pizza Plus I guess 2.59 for a drink I mean I really feel like I paid almost 9.00 for my meal I don't think I...

EDIT 2: The coupon worked, and the pizza was correct. I bumped the review back up to 5 stars for the swift and satisfying customer service and great food. Thank you guys!

EDIT: I previously had a negative review posted here following 3 incorrect order mishaps in a row and an inability to reach them to discuss the issue.

Very shortly after, the owner responded to this review with an apology and emailed me directly with a coupon for a free pizza. I consider this pretty solid customer service, so I bumped the review back up to 4 stars.

Once we're in the mood for pizza again, we're definitely going to give them another try. Their food is consistently tasty, well-cooked, and may be the only pizza place on the planet that actually slices the pizza all the way through. ;)

My wife and I have always preferred Figaro's pizza. Competitors like Domino's, Pizza Hut and the other usual suspects don't hold the same quality. I can't even eat Domino's pizza because it's so over garlicky, salty and buttery. Figaro's offers great pizza at a reasonable price. I never feel like I am eating something that came from a lab. The calzone's are especially impressive. The crust is thin and delicate vs the usual overabundance of dough and underwhelming presence of other ingredients you get at most pizza joints.
