Shady Taco — Restaurant in Indian Point

After a long day of boating and trying not to fall in the lake like an amateur, I stumbled into Shady Taco with a sunburn, a soggy dog, and an appetite big enough to scare a buffet.

Let me tell you—the food slapped harder than a wave to the face. Tacos? Delicious. Flavor-packed. Made me question every life decision that led me to ever eat at Taco Bell. And the sweet tea? I don’t know who they’ve got brewing that magic, but I’d legally marry them for a gallon of that stuff. It was like Southern grandma-level tea… if your grandma also knew how to party.

Prices? Totally fair. Didn’t have to sell a kidney. Outdoor seating? Perfect for me and my furry boating buddy. No side-eye, no drama, just shady vibes and tacos. Atmosphere? Chill, fun, and smelled like happiness and salsa.

First off, the wait wasn't too bad. Ordered Carne Asada and a chicken burrito. My first reaction was too little food for too high a price. Tacos are mini, burrito is a decent size, with barely a handful of chips withnd a few tablespoons of salsa. Steak was overcooked, dry, and a lot of cilantro. The burrito was one note...cilantro. If you are lucky enough to taste the chicken its been overcooked to dryness also and lacking flavor as well. The rice was put there for filling as I couldn't taste it either. Chips were stale too. My party ordered the nachos, asada burrito, a cheese burger, and the spicy chicken sandwich. Every person in my party including me believes this place deserves 5 stars. The portions were large and you get a lot for your money. Nothing tasted like a seasoning packet, everything tasted very fresh. The asada burrito was tossed and mixed very well. The spicy sandwich mayo was made fresh too. I'm sad that we only found this place on our last day in town, if we knew of it earlier we would have eaten here every day.
