Yuck! I wont be back. I was excited to support this small, local business and I LOVE authentic Chinese food, but they took one look at me and decided to rip me off.
The steamed pork dumplings were awful. Too chewy to eat in the middle, while the outer edges were as hard as plastic. The "pancake" was basically a soggy mush of breaded green onion, saturated in soy sauce and stinking of old vegetable oil. Parts of it were actually burnt.
There were other people ordering things and I'm pretty sure they paid a different price than me for the same items. I waited for a LONG time in their dilapidated little seating area, while other customers came and went. I was excited that "well, at least the food should be authentic and tasty." Nope. I ordered the spicy steamed fish soup which came with a generous portion of perfectly cooked rice. The soup wasnt too spicy. Nowhere close to even a serrano level but just enough to give it a kick. Its loaded with veggies that werent overcooked. Highly recommend. The chive pancake was loaded with chives, cooked well. It had a bit of a seafood flavor IMO, FYI. Their hot chili oil is fantastic!!! Not too spicy, crisp chili and you can taste the addition of herbs. They put the oil, soy, salt, vinegar, and sugar on each table and theres a water cooler for customers to help themselves. Great...
