Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I am a loyal customer of this establishment, The owner and his employees are always polite, patient and hard workers. It's an icon of this neighborhood every season from open to close. The food is not rushed but prompt and made to your specific order. I love that it has added to the menu and has also put in a drive through which has only improved just how much they care and understand that not everyone has time to sit outside but the ones who do have a clean sitting area to enjoy the outdoors. I was raised going here, I have been a part of the. Christian Park peewee, little league, baseball, softball, football seasons with my children and families of the other children from the park. The winning and losing teams have been walking down the street for years to receive a ice cream. The owner has sponsored many teams and help not to just serve you but serve the community. (My favorites Foot long chili cheese dog with a Cherry Heath Blizzard) I now live in Cloverdale but when I want Dairy Queen I will make that drive everytime vs visiting a...

I stopped here on a whim on the way back to the west side. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement! They only have outdoor seating at this very small location that has a super retro feel. For the drive-thru, there is no order board with a questionably staticky box to speak into. You pull right up to the window where a very polite lady took my order and then proceeded to get to immediate work on it with her equally conscientious coworker. At the location on my side of town, I’ve sadly (& stupidly) waited the better part of an hour in the drive-thru. I was in and out at this location in less than 5 minutes. Not only were the workers polite but they didn’t behave as though they’d rather be anywhere else and therefore couldn’t care less when (or if) I ever receive my order.

I would have given it only 1 star if not for the owner and employees. They’re like family to us all in the neighborhood. I have eaten at this Dairy Queen since the 70’s. Apparently, CORPORATE DAIRY QUEEN has forced them to not only remove many items we love from the menu but, have also forced this Dairy Queen to change their coney sauce to the trash all other Dairy Queen’s serve.
