FIRST AND LAST time ordering a cake from them. I went to the dairy queen on rockville rd. I ordered a cake for my mothers birthday. I specifically asked is this a ice cream cake? The lady told me no we dont sell ice cream cakes only baskin robins sell ice cream cakes.. okay fine "since its no ice cream in the cake i didnt waste my money on the ice cream i just purchased at home" i said the lady and i laugh. My mom swore up and down it was a ice cream cake but i figured my mom got it confused or something since i was informed by a employee they didnt sell ice cream cakes. Long story short the day i went to pick the cake up on the 4th of Dec they could find the cake. I waited... and waited and waited longer. The manager did give me 10% off which i appreciated. Day of my moms birthday i look in the fridge cake all melted. I called up there the manager not once apologized just asked me question.. well what time, what day etc etc. Originally i was told she could not refund the whole amount...she also proceeded to basically call me a liar saying well i spoke to the manager that was here that night and she told me that she didnt say it didnt have ice cream in it.. so at this point i told her im not about to go back and forth with you. She said she could not refund the whole amount but could do half. Im unsatisfied with that because not only is that a inconvenience but ive wasted time as well pluss my mom was really looking foward to her cake. Anyways i discussed it with my lawyer and she said go head return it take what they are giving me then we can proceed from there well i go to return the cake now its a whole different story . Im told i cant get any refund at all i would have to exchance the cake. Mind you this is 530 almost 6 pm. The day of my moms birthday. I had already went and picked up another cake why would i need two cakes?? Plus i dont want my money anywhere near this business at this point. Like i said no apology, no empathy anything. I didnt want any extra compensation i just wanted back what i paid for the cake not only was i unable to enjoy my mothers birthday but Ive been running around picking up cakes, trying to return cakes, back and forth on the phone between my lawyer, dairy queen, and the customer service number while at work. A complete headache. Please save yourself the stress. Dont waste your money here. Take your business else where. To really loose business over a cake.. especially when misinformed by an employee is absolutely ridiculous shows what customer service means the them. I forgot to mention when i asked for corporates number she said she didnt have it in the store she would have to look it up... how unprofessional... as a business why would you not have corporates number somewhere posted in the facility thats just beyond me. I placed a drive thru order, and was asked to pull around, they'll bring it right out. within a few minutes I knew they had forgotten about me. I was at the beginning of a small rush. the very beginning. I decided to walk inside to claim my order, instead of rely on someone to accurately identify me in the parking lot and have them run it out. as soon as I stepped in the door, there was nothing but chaos behind the counter. who I assumed to be the manager was working drive thru, and everyone else was making ice cream. there was one cook that repeatedly shouted, "drive thru ready!" I then witnessed a young lady walk over to the screen, bump two orders, and walk away to proceed making ice cream (or whatever she was doing). a lady who had come in behind me seemed agitated, holding a ticket. I asked if she had a drive thru order too, which she confirmed. I told her that they had just bumped two orders and walked away, leaving [our] food to sit in the window for over 5 minutes. I told the girl working the cash register about my predicament, to which she seemed uninterested in inquiring about. she just proceeded to take orders from people standing behind me. their only saving grace was the young man behind the counter with longer curly-ish hair that took it upon himself to figure out why there were two drove thru orders up, and not being bagged. I just have to wonder who's responsible for what. I know when I worked at dq, we bagged the food up before putting it in the window. i know places cross-train employees to increase productivity, but this seems counter-productive, in that if everyone's making ice cream, who's bagging the food? all I'm saying is the manager needs to sit down their staff and define who works where when you go...

This store ruined my daughterâs ice cream cake today by not only misspelling her name, but also the manager slamming the drive thru window in my face when I told her I was disappointed that they ruined my daughterâs birthday. She appeared to be a Middle Eastern woman and she showed no understanding nor did she apologize for it. She just responded with rudeness and a lack of compassion, like she had no idea why a parent would be upset that their childâs name is misspelled. After several minutes of her looking back and forth between the order paper and the cake and realizing that the cake decorator made the error, she very rudely asked me how I wanted the situation resolved. I simply wanted it fixed and she rudely told me to drive to the other side of the restaurant and wait for it before she slammed the drive thru window in my door again. I drove off and will not ever return. They lost a loyal customer of 20 years. Thankfully, the birthday was saved anyway, no thanks to the DQ manager and her clear lack of customer service and humility when her team makes a serious mistake. Now I see the âownerâ has responded and asked me to click a link to contact them. The link takes me to their corporate site. What I am supposed to do there? Thereâs no personal touch here at all.
