so, I came to this place with hopes that the outside was as good looking as the inside. We ordered food and got it fairly quickly however, I was not stoked to find a thick ass black hair in my food drenched in syrup and covered for me to find like it was a treasure hunt. I took my plate to the counter where I interrupted one of the workers having a nice hot coffee when my hot chocolate was lukewarm at best having a great conversation with her friends(sorry to interrupt) however, I said to her, "hey, I am not saying this is your hair however, there is a hair in my food. to which I got the reply of "ok, bye!" short African American girl was super rude. I was put off completely. I asked the manger her name and he started to explain that she was homeless and working there. I am all for people supporting themselves and people helping people but, shouldn't we help the ones that want to better their craft? I will not come here again and...
Read moreI wish I could upgrade my five star review to six stars, because Neidhammer keeps inching closer and closer towards a second home for me. The hospitality, ingenuity, and flexilibity of the staff here are the best I've seen in the city, and Neidhammer is rapidly shaping itself into a cornerstone of the Near Eastside. Later that day, I was spotted finishing a coffee, and the manager brought me a warm apple crumble muffin on the house.
Small gestures like these carry with them the welcoming warmth I seek from a neighborhood coffee shop -- not just a place to get caffeinated, but a place to be with others who give a damn about each other. I genuinely look forward to days where I can spend a morning or afternoon at Neidhammer, supporting this...
Read moreWe were at a meeting in downtown Indianapolis. When it wrapped up we had some time before we needed to head to the airport to fly home. I wanted to find a local coffee shop to get a fabulous coffee. My colleague was more interested in a quick drive by place. I insisted and found this place 8 mins away. I knew it would be a special spot when I looked it up online. We pulled up to this beautiful building outside and even more inside exposed brick great art and a welcoming atmosphere. The people that worked there were friendly and super helpful. I ordered the Cordato based on their recommendation and it was amazing as was the other coffee and dessert. We sat and enjoyed the place and the staff was super attentive. They delivered an excellent customer experience and a stop I will add to our next trip. You need to check this place out it’s...
